NOT AT ALL HOW TORGILS WANTED TO COME OUT OF WINTER HIBERNATION BUT.....

Ok....I will be brutally honest.......things REALLY suck right now with the mess that has befallen us. A huge mess that was NOT our fault in any way (other than trusting the wrong people) nor a mess of our own making. We got screwed over by someone we trusted. Now, despite selling a whole LOT of my stuff to try to make ends meet, im still coming up short to cover rent and bills!

The summary: Both Atowi and I got fired the end of March from our jobs that were directly tied to the places that we rented. Not only did the sleezebag owner of New Life Properties fire us and evict us after pushing my partner to the point of having a mental breakdown, he also refuses to pay us over $4000 in earned wages while also using intimidation and extortion to steal another $1500 from us. He sent his guys to try to steal OUR property, change locks so we couldn't access our storage, and repeatedly made threats of violence. Begrudgingly, I paid him the $1500 just so he would leave us alone and let us move out by the 20th.

Thankfully, the boss at my main job has been super helpful and cool about everything and let me borrow a work van to move (since i currently also dont have a working vehicle) so thats helped alot. My old landlord also let me renew the lease in Hudson so we arent homeless. Despite these good things, after getting robbed of $4k AND shelling out nearly $3k just to be able to have a roof over our heads....we have drained ALL available funds to the point that we currently have $350 cash left to get us to May.

Selling my stuff helps to stretch those funds and I absolutely did NOT want to reach a point where I had to ask for financial help cause i know its rough out there for everyone. Add to that my stubborn pride saying "You got this, you always land on your feet and figure out a way" ...

Well, turns out that I didnt HAVE TO ASK for help because an amazing friend started a GoFundMe for Atowi and I. Shana Wersal, I appreciate the hell outta you for putting this out there and rallying people to help us. I feel horrible about asking for financial help right now, especially after all the love and support we got during Atowi's cancer battle in December. Despite how I feel, I dont know any other way to get through the rough patch. I dont make enough to support us both right now. Come May, we should be back on our feet, hopefully, though.

So, thats the cliffnotes of the long saga. Please dont feel like you have to help or donate. IF you can, it is appreciated but again, no guilt trips or hard feelings. Im not sharing this to beg but instead to share where we are at. We are doing our best to keep our heads up while continuing to push forward through the storm. WE WILL MAKE IT! Hello family! Torgils really doesnt like having to do this but its reached a point that he needs help. My partner had life saving cancer surgery around Christmas but it came at a large financial strain. We have tried to do it all on our own but we have fallen short. So Torgils is swallowing his pride and asking for your help to get us through this rough patch.

Its a bittersweet moment in time when camp has finally been broken down. It signifies the official end of my 2025 season. As I sit here starring at the empty space before me, my heart is filled with both joy and sadness.

The sadness: This year hit me harder than any previous years. For most my life, I've been a background character in everyone else's story no matter what the character was that I was playing. This season, the overwhelming love and support from folks all across the realm helped Torgils see just how important he is to people. It made me feel truly seen and cared about in ways I never imagined. That is why the sadness. Fest is family! From the patrons to the boothies to the fellow actors...yall shine so much light into my life for just a brief moment in time. It saddens me that I have to wait another year to see most of your shiny faces and feel the love of some of the most genuine hugs!

The joy: just as the sadness is from missing my family, the joy comes from the plethora of amazing memories made this season. Memories innumerable! From new friends to special moments to giant laughs and joyful tears..this has been my most memorable season so far!

I can't speak word that do it justice so instead, I want to thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart for making this season magical! Torgils loves you all and can't wait to see what kind of shiny chaos magic we create new season!

Oh, and im still working on sorting all the pics from this year....thats gonna be a big drop later!

Torgils is still trying to wrap his head around everything that has happened this season! There will be a reflection post made later as well as a massive photo drop but lots of mental processing is needed first. That said....

Here is the haul from the weekend!

Shiny hats collected on day 14: 7 (plus 2 very special shiny hats that will get a separate post)
Shiny hats collected on day 15: 12
Shiny hats collected on day 16: 18

With that....the final grand total of shiny hats collected in the 2025 season:

I am completely blown away by the love and generosity of those who gifted them knowing what Torgils does with them. Torgils is also amazed by how many people brought shiny hats just to try to trade with Torgils!

Now, there is a much more important number to account for. Of the 172 aquired, many were used to trade for of shiny hats (often trade my larger one for someone's smaller one). As the season went on, Torgils kept track of how many shiny hats were GIVEN AWAY just to create little moments of magic. The final total of shiny hats given away this season was 73! Thats a whole lot of magic!
