Given today was a holiday, I did not get done what I’d anticipated, but there is what I DID finish. I’ve been at these all week. I will have them at Seymour Area Farmers Market tomorrow - also, Sunday is Father’s Day and fathers (I am one and I also have one) LOVE nice pens. So come see me 🙂

Bloodwood “cigarillo”
Blue/white “cigarillo”
Poplar slimline
Sycamore slimline
Scorched Ipe “piston”.

A word on Ipe - this wood does not float. It’s very heavy and very dense. The grain is rather plain, so I torched it to give it a little more character.

It’s been a busy and chaotic day. I did get my sharpening done, and finished this special order.

I got a piece done last night for Seymour Area Farmers Market this weekend. I’ve several other pieces in queue, but the tools are dull. If I can get the skew done, I’ll have more to show.

This is a new style ballpoint with charred cherry as the wood species. It’s a fairly slim example with a Parker style refill.

We got a lot drilled and glued tonight. With little codgers who are homeschooled, they get a practical shop class on big boy tools in a (very small) production environment.

I took two of my little codgers up to Nashville Indiana Farmer's Market today. Nashville is a beautiful little town tucked away in Brown County. We also ran into a fellow Seymour farmers market vendor, The Little Nashville Shop!

I had to tidy up a bit (no I did not deep clean - I’ve the attention span of a rabid chihuahua) and lay out some of this up-coming week’s projects. They will not all get done, but it’s a start. Included is a special order that will take priority. Oh yeah and I need to sharpen tools. That’s boring though.

All this and more at Seymour Area Farmers Market TODAY from now until noon.

Bonus for tonight. I actually got this Jeep one done!

I’ll send the cutoff along with it for conversations.

This one features some of my favorite hardware. Beautiful, utilitarian, reliable, comfortable. Available at Seymour Area Farmers Market.

As much as I love repurposing and upcycling, I do not love some material. Skateboard is the most difficult stuff I’ve tried so far, and I’ve done some hard stuff. The White River destroyed all my skateboard material in the flood last year, except for this. This is the LAST pen I will do with skateboard.

This rollerball employs solid stainless steel and will be available tomorrow at Seymour Area Farmers Market! We will be there from 8-12.

I’m in the middle of a very challenging project that apparently I can’t use my usual finishing method with. So, I’ve set that to the side and consulted the fellow I got the material from.

MEANWHILE

Wet sanded and now drying - solid Jeep fordite. Many, many, many layers of Jeep paint built up over time, scraped off the floor, cut to size, drilled, sanded into oblivion, shaped, polished, and ready to finish. If I have time tomorrow, I’ll have this at Seymour Area Farmers Market on Saturday.
