The Choraleers is the teaching choir for musically gifted students beginning in the 2nd through the 6th grade.

The choir meets after school on Tuesdays from 4:15-6:15 pm. Through voice classes in which proper Estill Vocal techniques are taught, the students learn to sing with resonance in their head voice and also how to properly "belt" to sing current pop and musical theater styles. Students also have theory classes where they are taught solfege, the art of sight-singing and ear training. The choristers b

ecome proficient soloists as well as learning to sing in two-, three-, and four-part harmony. There is also training in classical music literature, singing in foreign languages, musical theater, stage presence and show choir dance movements. Through such extensive instruction, they receive a full, professional choral music education including concerts and tours. The Teen Chorale

The Teen Chorale joins talented musical students from a number of surrounding Jr./ Sr. high schools (currently including Ambridge, Beaver, Beaver County Christian Academy, Blackhawk, Center, Central Catholic, Mars, Montour, Moon, North Allegheny, North Hills, Oakland Catholic, Our Lady Of The Sacred Heart, Quaker Valley, Quigley, Seneca Valley, Serra, Sewickley Academy, Vincentian and Western Beaver.) At Christmas, they perform a Madrigal Celebration in 15th Century costume, complete with script and solo and ensemble singing. During Lent, they combine with the Village Singers to perform an original Passion Play, "Why Must He Die?" that has been presented in over 120 different churches in the last 20 years. First semester, during Madrigal season, they meet on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-9:30pm. The Village Singers

The Village Singers is a group of 40 adults that meet once a week on Monday evenings. Their repertoire consists of quality secular and sacred music, including classical music from the Renaissance through contemporary, spirituals, musicals, jazz, gospel, folk, and pop. If you have been hesitating, but love to sing, or perhaps you miss that great experience you had in a high school or college choir, "Come Sing With The Gang" and join us. In the Spring they combine with the Teen Chorale to perform the musical Passion Play "Why Must He Die?" during the Lenten season. The Village Quartet

The Village Quartet is an all male exclusive quartet made up of the first chair of the 1st and 2nd tenor, baritone, and bass sections of the Village Singers. They sing all venues of music.

On Monday, October 16 at 7pm, I am giving a workshop for NPM for Children's Choir Directors. Topic is "Keeping Children in the Choir Using Estill Voice Tips". The workshop is applicable for anyone directing choirs. It is being held at St. Francis Cabrini Church in Center Township. Hope to see some of you there. I am excited to be able to teach Estill again.!

I am on sabbatical to become master teacher in Estill voice, also to downsize my home to get it ready to sell. Thus I am downsizing my choral music. Anyone interested in free men's choral, SATB secular for HS and SATB for advanced HS or college level? I want to give it a good home. Also have tons of music series for grades, music reference books. Choreography for choirs. If interested, please respond to this. Hope you are connected to school or non profit, so I could take a deduction. Pass this on to others!

I am downsizing my choral music. So far I have boxed up sa/ssa choral music that is sacred and San music that is secular. Anyone interested? It is free and I can even give you the file cabinet to go with it. I also have elementary music book series , some with teachers manuals and VHSs of john jacobson's choreography and music reference books and so fege books. It is all free. I also have a gulbransen organ with 2 octaves on the floor to give away.

"Hooray for Hollywood" will be presented by our Village Singers in May. It will be a trip down memory lane with a medleys of your favorite songs and singers from the movies of the last 100 years! Some of those included: That's Entertainment, Thanks for the Memory, Judy Garland in You Made Me Love You. Some of the great love songs include: Where Do I Begin-Shirley Bassey, Unchained Melody with righteous Brothers, Smoke Gets In Your Eyes- Temptations, The Way We Were-Barbara Streisand. Everything I Do I Do For You , I Will Always Love You-Whitney Houston and Some Enchanted Evening. There will be a Disney Medley of singing and dancing favorites as Be Our Guest, Under The Sea and A Whole New World. The final reel will feature upbeat numbers as What A Feeling, Let Me Be Your Teddy, Let It Go from Frozen and Hallelujah from Shriek. All in all you will hear bits of 40 songs!

What a great first rehearsal we had last Monday. I am so excited about our music and the way my singers have embraced it. We've come a long way in our estill journey, so proud of all of you!
