You have been warned: This is NOT a quiet evening at the theatre. 🎠😜
You may feel compelled to laugh, gasp, cheer, sigh, or boo (enthusiasm is encouraged) during the King's Players production of "Fainting Bertha…or She Had a Knack for It."
Live theatre is magic, and that's why Bryan and I started producing and directing these shows 24 years ago. We love seeing the magic come alive in the hearts of our young Players, and on the local stage. Come be a part of the magic! Live theater, family-friendly, and made for local audiences!
We perform at the charming Olde Glory Theatre and Community Hall in Seward, NE. Excellent concessions are sold starting 60 minutes before curtain, and doors open 30 minutes before curtain. (Pro tip: Get enough tasty hot popcorn to allow for eating, and tossing at the villain!)
Playwright's note: Bertha Liebbeke was a local pickpocket in 1890s Lincoln, NE, who confounded the local sheriff and pickpocketed her way to infamy. Her nickname was "Fainting Bertha," and she escaped from several hospitals and insane asylums across the Midwest before landing in Lincoln. She makes a few appearances in this melodrama, set in Lincoln. Other historical figures make their mark on the play, as well.
