In Tennessee's Great Smoky Mountains, you can walk across the longest swinging bridge over water in the United States at Foxfire Mountain Adventure Park in Sevierville! Known as “America’s Bridge to Prosperity,” this 400-foot bridge stretches high above Dunn’s Gorge, where a clear mountain creek winds through the rugged landscape far below. As you step out onto the bridge, it gently moves under your feet, adding a little thrill to the walk as you take in the wide views of the forest and rocky gorge around you. The park’s self-guided bridge tour leads you to even more cool spots. Along the way you’ll cross the Cliffhanger Swinging Bridge, which hangs over a beautiful 60-foot waterfall crashing into the rocks below. The walk ends at the Whispering Winds Covered Bridge, where visitors leave handwritten wishes and notes that hang from the rafters and flutter in the mountain breeze. It’s a fun and memorable way to explore the Smoky Mountains from a whole new view.
