What’s new as we start this week and enter September??

We have some special edition Kaffe Fasset one-yard precuts added to our Kaffe Collective section!

Some fun new kits for pot holder looms, weaving, and also simple needlepoint coaster kits have arrived! Kid and beginner friendly! Remember making pot holders “back in the day”? They’re back!!

And congrats to Sasha for finishing her first quilt, including the quilting!! Looks great! Can’t wait to see the next one!

Those who know us know that our passion for fabric is second to none other than our sense of humor! So, yes, we have beautiful Liberty of London fabrics and amazing cotton lawns by Kaffe Fassett light and airy enough for a beautiful dress…but we also have fun and quirky fabrics from Japan featuring cats in bandanas and dogs eating sushi and bears holding umbrellas! It’s all about balance! 😉

Lots of new fabrics this week! This is just a little snack to bite off and chew! Come feast your eyes on all of it in the shop or online!

Woohooo! More fun at Cottonwood! We received another bolt of our Maryland Fabric, with a new coordinating Cottonwood Selvedge! This was a surprise for me from DJ! My favorite animal has always been elephants, for as long as I can remember! So he asked our fabric company to do this selvedge! 🐘🐘🐘 and who doesn’t love a good selvedge!?

Severna Park High school fabric is in as well! Go Falcons! 💙💛

We hope to bring in some other local high school fabric as well!

And—
there is a new model of Juki for Cottonwood! The HT 740! This thirteen-pounder has decorative stitches, auto-threader, thread cutter, and is lightly computerized! An excellent travel machine or going-back-to-school machine!

We will move around the room trying out all of the longarm options: Q24 on a proframe (13’ with hydraulics) with Q-matic, studio frame (10’ frame) with a Q20, and the sit down options (Q16) that are available on lift tables or folding tables. So many options for you to make the right decision for you!

A couple of noteworthy bolts arrived yesterday! Kimberly Einmo’s “Deco Stitches” looks like brightly colored decorative stitches from your sewing machine without all of the hard work! Use it to make a cute sewing machine cover! Or a ByAnnie tote to carry to your next retreat!

And some of Caroline Friedlander’s Memento from the Ruby Star Society have arrived. Her alphabets are a cool blender! As a former architect, Caroline’s handwriting is distinct and her style is modern. The crosshatch blenders also have a nice texture and some nice color options. I can’t wait to use these in a quilt!
