This handsome man took me on a hike today back to the first place we went together when we fell in love… and somehow in the middle of empty winter trees and leaves on the ground there was a huge stone covered in blooming flowers down below the path… and there I said yes… I get to spend this life with my best friend... 👩🏻‍❤️‍👨🏻

When we begin to make our choices with intention… we truly experience life… we are no longer powerless… ceremony is a beautiful practice to start learning how to co-create with intention and a can be the bridge to the full embrace of our living an authentic life.

you don’t need a book to tell you your history… nothing is ever lost…

walk barefoot in the snow… forage the berries and mushrooms… put your hands in the dirt… plunge natural waters… climb mountains… let the cold wind hit your cheek and connect you with your ancestors through lived experience… feel what they felt…

This is also tradition… honor it like the holidays… the recipes, the songs and the toasts…

But visit it daily…
is it not true that we could offer some things eternal life…

set free your animation into pure darkness… where everything and nothing exist in the holy womb… the unconscious…
light is but the consciousness offering thought like a torch to the vast akashic truth in the dark… let the mind rest so the body might feel it… the beauty of the absence of light of knowing… the somatic ecstasy of becoming breath alone without the need for illumination… but the presence simply of the cosmic rhythm of becoming and unbecoming…

It’s fertile in the dark… conditions for the fermentation of life lived in various vessels… each unique transmutations of sun and water and earth… and in time offer the flame to what was once considered complete… usher the arrival of new states of being… a phoenix born of each moment made into medicine… comes from ash… the final darkness of spent light… new life.
Allow yourself to be burnt down… extinguish the flame… become æther.
True integration is the alchemical joining of death and rebirth… we are ever expanding even after contracting…

Thoughts on winter solstice 2023

When I look at these I see my Mom… I never saw it when I was younger but it is undeniable now. Especially the first pic on here. It makes me happy really, I’m glad I can carry her in that way… I haven’t done much in front of the camera since my accident. I think I went into a season of privacy, healing… I walked through the shadow… the darkness rebirths us. Recently though, I have felt more of a push to do all the things I left behind during that season. I am back to shooting more, I am writing again, singing… there is room for all of the facets of my being and it feels good. I’m grateful for the nudge from to do some photos. It’s good to see myself and who I am in this new season. Truly the happiest of my life. Ram did such a great job capturing me and has always been such a dear friend who has always seen me and given me the most encouraging words. She made me feel beautiful in all the ways.
I can’t wait to keep sharing images from this shoot and to do more…

Call me Micaiah…
People always ask about my name…
My full given name is Anna-Micaiah Fairlight Hubbard. My mom thought I was a boy her whole pregnancy and heard the name Micaiah in a dream so that was my only name until I showed up a girl. Then she wanted to name me after my great grandmother Annabelle and after a character in the book Christie that she read while pregnant… Fairlight. Growing up she always used Fairlight or Fairy for short but I have always felt like my true name is Micaiah. Explaining the name Fairlight my whole life has always felt strange… and trust me it always requires explanation. Ha. I’m a pretty private person… so I suppose I have enjoyed the thought that Micaiah was reserved for those who truly knew me. I also used it to sign my art and poetry… but now, it just feels like it is the truest expression of who I am and it feels most natural to be called Micaiah. I suppose each name represents a facet of me… but it feels right to step into what feels true and all encompassing… so, call me Micaiah. 🦋

It’s the time of year to come together as community and share gratitude for the harvest both literally and metaphorically… so we are gathering for a special time together on 11.11 for the Harvest Potluck Party. Let’s create a feast together! This is a co-ed free event and all ages welcome but your ticket in is a dish you create to share and you will BYOB. The idea is to be thoughtful and creative about what you bring so we can all delight in what we share. Let’s use the magic and intention of this day be shared with community and delicious food and drink!
