"Mother! Can I go to Skate Capital?" Well while you're asking for permission to come skating this weekend remember to tell mom that she can skate for free this Sunday in honor of that one special person in our lives that helps with our homework, cleans our boo boos and gives us rides to the rink! That is correct! Moms skate for free this Sunday May 10th. for Mother's Day. Love you mom!

Hello! A word to families who like to skate AND could be interested in joining scouts! We are proud to be hosting a recruitment event here at Skate Capital for Troop 111 this Wednesday April 15th from 7PM until 8PM. Admission and skate rental are free for the entire family that have boys in fifth or sixth grade that may wish to learn more about scouting. Skate Capital has direct appreciation for Troop 111 as for several years running they are the crew that volunteers their time to walk the length Salina road here, directly in front of our business, spring cleaning up all the garbage making the street shine! If you are drawn to be a part an organization that makes those sorts of improvements to our community plus so much more, stop by Wednesday and learn all about the great things scouting has to offer!

Hello skate fans! At long last we are booking birthday parties! Just as before, parties here are super simple: Forty dollars for a room and six dollars per person that skates. You are welcome to bring your own food and drinks IF you've booked a party and the room fee is due at the time of booking. The only difference from before is we are NOT currently running the bouncy houses, hamster ball and rock wall. They will return soon. All of our parties are booked either over the phone or in person so if you need a fun venue for that special skater, give Pinky's party palace a call (Skate Capital) at (814) 670-0749. Thank you all for your overwhelming patience and support!!!

Like a proud papa I wanted to share some photos of Pinky back safe and sound. She seems perfectly fine. No ill effects. Still runs around with me everywhere, including right under the air hockey table without concern. Thank you everyone for holding her well being in your hearts.

Friends and pet lovers everywhere!!! You're not going to believe this! I can hardly believe it myself, but I saw it with my own eyes. As I walked out front to the rink to buy Tierney and I a Pepsi to complement our Wendy's dinner tonight, I called out Pinky's name. Just like I have been doing for the past two days whether I am inside, outside or dreaming, and what do I hear but a faint, barely discernible, scratchy "Meow" coming from my right. Could that sound be Pinky? I ran to get Tierney to confirm the unbelievable. We both started shouting "Pinky!" as Tierney searched the entry hall (she got locked out there, lol.) as I climbed into the ceiling. I looked all around with no sign, so I crawled back down, rescued Tierney from the hallway and we continued to follow our ears. Suddenly Tierney shouts: "I think she's in the air hockey table!" Now being the scientist type I thought there is no way Pinky is in the air hockey table, I looked under there...Twice! The filter was firmly in place. No creature could have passed through. Well, a creature did pass through. We raced to the kitchen for the keys, snapped open the coin door and who to my wondering eyes should appear? A dusty, slightly dehydrated Pinky-Doodle!!!! I couldn't believe it!!! Pinky is home!!! She spent just under 48 hours and two skate sessions in that crazy air hockey table. Unbelievable!
What I do believe however is that we have some of the most thoughtful, caring, devoted, and loving friends here on facebook and in our fine county of Venango. SO MANY people offered expert advise, gave an endless outpour of care I could literally feel and composed countless re-posts and sharings. Everyone has been amazingly helpful with our off topic lost animal issues. I thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart.
As I conclude my typing here my little beam of joy Pinky is sitting beside me cleaning herself after a much needed snack, a wrestle, a run through the rink and countless hugs and shoulder rides. My heart is healed. I can get back to work. Thank you!

My friends, words can not describe the pain I am feeling knowing that my little angel could be out there in the snow somewhere. Pinky and I share a connection that I have never experienced in the 56 years I've been alive. Please, if anyone has any information that can help her return to me I will be eternally grateful. Tierney and I searched late into the night on the 10th in an ever increasing circle around the rink calling her name but she unable to meow so she can't even shout for help. I am holding out hope that a good samaritan noticed her outside in the rain Saturday and scooped her up. If you have any information please call the rink number at: (814) 670-0749. Thank you.

As Steve, Noah and Pinky finish up last minute details before the big re-opening I wanted to clarify that this Thursday's hours will be 7PM to 10PM with admission at $6 if you don't need rental skates, and $8 if you do. January 1st. 2026 begins again our regular hours of Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 7 to 10PM plus Saturday and Sunday afternoons from 1 to 4. I hope it's not too disappointing for our January babies but we are holding off on booking birthday parties just a little longer while we make certain that those little extra touches are in place to make your special day extra special. I look to start booking in February but we'll make an announcement.
It goes without saying but I have to say it anyway because it's bubbling up inside me like a shaken up soda that we are all SO EXCITED to see you all again and can barely express how wonderful it's going to be having our communities beloved skating rink back in full swing. We hope you all had a Merry Christmas and let's get together in the new year!
