The Trail of Music Legends celebrates the people and stories that helped shape McNairy County’s remarkable musical history, and we want to ensure that story continues to be shared for years to come.

We’re launching a fundraiser to restore and replace existing markers along the trail and support its ongoing maintenance. There are two ways to help: Adopt a marker and fund the refurbishment of the marker of your choice, or make a donation of any amount toward general trail maintenance. Every contribution helps care for a piece of McNairy County’s musical story.

Thank you for supporting this project and helping us preserve the Trail of Music Legends for the next generation.

What stories can ordinary objects tell?

For Nashville artist Sharon Harms, a still life is anything but lifeless. Her hyperrealistic oil paintings bring together vintage toys, anatomical models, typewriters, glass figurines, advertising ephemera and other familiar objects to explore memory, symbolism and the unexpected connections that emerge between them.

Harms spent decades working as a graphic designer and art director before turning to fine art full-time. Her new Ars Gloria profile explores how those experiences shaped her approach to composition, storytelling and the discipline of hyperrealism, and why she believes a painting can say something a photograph cannot.

The arts aren’t just about creating beautiful things. They’re about creating beautiful connections, too.

Learning together gives us opportunities to build confidence, share ideas, form relationships, and find new ways to tell our stories.

That’s why lifelong learning and bringing people together will always be an important part of what we do at Arts in McNairy.

🎭 AUDITIONS! One more chance - Thursday 8/20 for ages 13 and up, 6:00pm at the Latta.

It's nearly midnight, and Edgar Allan Poe cannot sleep. As dreams and memory blur into waking nightmare, the father of detective fiction, science fiction, and psychological horror is haunted by the characters and stories that made him a legend

Before “Rockabilly” had a name, some of its earliest sounds were already being recorded right here in McNairy County.

In 1951, Carl Perkins made his first recordings with Stanton Littlejohn in Eastview, years before Blue Suede Shoes would make him a rockabilly legend. It’s one piece of a remarkable musical story that connects our county to Perkins, Elvis Presley, Dewey Phillips, and the sound that helped change American music.

Sometimes you don’t have to look far to find history. Sometimes it happened right down the road.
