A-Gallery Sponsored by Integrus Architecture, A Gallery showcases the work of those in the first years of their pursuit of a professional practice in the visual arts

Located on Main Street on Seattle’s historic Occidental Park, A Gallery has dedicated its exhibitions to showcasing the work of those in the first years of their pursuit of a professional practice in the visual arts. Integrus Architecture has sponsored the project, and we are exceptionally amenable to proposals that address design, social spaces, and visual complements to real architectural practi

ce. The work of A Gallery is largely driven and determined by our location in the Pioneer Square area, and our exhibition program has been developed in part by our sensitivities to this area, its unique social landscape, and its historical value. As a storefront, we design our exhibitions so that they can be read easily from the square, street, or sidewalk, and proposals must be mindful of the elements of legibility and accessibility in this context.

We’re excited to announce the opening of our new artist show featuring Mae Marvelle Leroux (she/they). Mae is a q***r, neurodivergent artist and writer whose work draws inspiration from the universe, nature, music, memory, and raw emotion. Their practice explores the delicate balance between chaos and control.

Collage is central to Mae’s work—an expressive outlet for processing trauma and emotion. Through layered imagery and deconstructed narratives, Mae communicates powerful personal experiences with striking clarity and depth. Each piece incorporates a wide range of materials and techniques, revealing new details with every viewing.

This body of work was created during the first two years following Mae’s diagnosis of Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). Each piece serves as an exploration of trauma, emotional states, or a specific alter—offering an intimate and deeply honest visual language.

‘We are all bound by a covenant of reciprocity: plant breath for animal breath, winter and summer, predator and prey, grass and fire, night and day, living and dying. Water knows this, clouds know this. Soil and rocks know they are dancing in a continuous giveaway of making, unmaking, and making again the earth.’
