www.michaelcaci.com Inspired by the experimental ethos of artists like
Sigmar Polke, I deliberately juxtapose disparate materials—industrial elements, traditional
painting techniques, and photography both personal and appropriated—to create visual
convers
ations that could not exist within a single medium. Each piece begins as an exploration rather than a declaration. I approach my practice with
persistent curiosity, allowing unexpected interactions between digital processes and traditional
craft to guide the evolution of my work. This methodical experimentation with large-format digital
printing technologies, begun in the late 1990s, continues to serve as the technical foundation for
my current mixed media compositions. The resulting works invite viewers to reconsider familiar visual languages through unexpected
combinations and contexts. In this space between recognition and discovery lies the essence of
my artistic inquiry—a continuous dialogue between tradition and innovation, between the
handcrafted and the technologically rendered.
