Seattle City Light is the steward of the Georgetown Steam Plant. City Light is the 10th largest public electric utility in the United States. It has some of the lowest cost customer rates of any urban utility, providing reliable, renewable, and environmentally responsible power to about 750,000 Seattle area residents. City Light has been greenhouse gas neutral since 2005, the first electric utilit

y in the nation to achieve that distinction. The Georgetown Steam Plant is currently open to the public the second Saturday of every month, 10 a.m. View the City’s policies at http://seattle.gov/digital

We’re welcoming Fall with lots of music, art, and community events! First one for October is the Possibilities Expo on Friday, October 10th and Saturday, October 11th.

The second annual POSSIBILITIES EXPO brings an eclectic collection of regional musicians and light artists together for 2 October nights to push boundaries and expand expectations. Using the vast dormant industrIal spaces of the 120 year old Georgetown Steam Plant, the event will have its audience moving from the Turbine Room to the Ash Room to the Boiler Room to take in some of the most ground-breaking solo, duo, & trio acts our region has to offer, while bathed in kinetic light art.

Featured artists this year include:

Legendary Musician & Producer Steve Fisk, working with Mother Love Bone drummer Greg Gilmore

Gabriella Guttiérrez y Muhs, Seattle University professor, poet, literary critic & author

Student Nurse, veteran original trio in their 6th incarnation since 1979

Calling all rule-breakers, tinkerers, and dreamers.

Our Second Annual Science Fair is coming — and we’re looking for projects that challenge the usual, flip the script, and ask what if?

From upcycled fashion to 3-minute performances, this isn’t your average fair. Submit your idea by August 15 — then join us September 20–21, 2025 to show it off.
