Ok, I am not usually good at these "anniversary" things, but ten years since what has to be the greatest personal car event for this kid who dreamed big.
Dreaming one day of visiting America, reading car magazines, thinking maybe even one day visiting Pebble Beach Concours. Then imagining what it might be like to show a car or have a car race at Laguna Seca during car week.
Pebble Beach and the whole of Monterey Car Week, including Laguna Seca, celebrating BMW was 2016. I took five cars down in total, three to the track, Olympic CSL Rally car (only factory-made CSL Rally car) - Levi CSL, iconic history as the Dutch National Racing Team CSL - and JPS 635 CSI, only one I believe that has turned wheels on a US track.
Then for Pebble Beach Concours, the blue BMW Batmobile CSL, which came second in a serious, tough class for the year of BMW only beaten by a $1m restoration on a 507 and the Peter Gregg/Frank Stella M1 Art car.
What a weekend - what a memory !!!
