Music equipment electronics repair specializing in amp repair, rebuild and modification. Tubes and solid state. I've been doing this for 30 plus years now.

each repair is assessed for difficulty, parts availability and time required by completion. I can usually give a verbal guesstimate without charge with proper information. Labor charged can be anywhere from 20 to 300 dollars. I really don't charge by hour usually put in a couple of hours for average cost of 60 to 75.

Sunn Beta Lead all ripped apart for front end repair. Original parts are hard to come by so substitutions have to be made. Even those sustitution parts are no longer made so you have to hunt them down. A lot of the problem with solid state repair is parts and research.

Insides of a Rola 'the major' amp. Very nice build. Top quality components, mercury transformers 4x kt88 and three 12ax7. 683 volts on the plates.

Fender twin reverb sept 17,1973 master volume with push/pull boost. All pots are secured to signal buss plate except master volume. This necessitates pulling bar to access nut that is sandwiched between chassis and buss bar to replace any front pot. Stupidest thing I've ever seen on a Fender product. What a pain.

Vox AC10-1C guts. Has a digital processing circuit for reverb. Some surface mounr technology on the main board so it would be hard to fix if anything there would go south. Have to take it apart to swap out tubes and access fuses. HT fuse is a 200 mA GMA type which isn't common. Cathode bias output circuit so no need to bias output tubes. I give this amp a life expectancy of 8 to 10 years then the landfill. Sounds Ok but kind of generic.

THD electronics bassman 4x10 combo. This was a prototype that never made it to production. Has an active tube driven effects loop that can be used as a boost. It also had a spring reverb but the problem was that with the boost activated and the reverb on at the same time the circuit would ring. Too bad they never figured it out so i removed the reverb. It really sounds netter with the boost on and there are two adjustments for send and return to really dial it in.

1988 Musicman Stingray bass peach/salmon finish. Supposidly only 12 made. Tony Levin has one. I have one that seen some action. All original and sounds great.
