We are so excited to perform with Northwest Sound on June 12th, conducted by Scott Fikse!

Scott is a Tacoma native turned Hawaiʻi transplant who has returned to the Pacific Northwest to pursue doctoral studies in choral conducting at the University of Washington. There, he serves as a graduate teaching assistant in the School of Music and an instructor for the Program for Writing Across Campus. A versatile conductor and bass-baritone equally at home across genres, Scott's solo and ensemble work spans a wide range — from appearances with Celebrity Cruises, Diamond Head Theatre, barbershop and vocal jazz groups, to chamber music with Early Music Hawaiʻi, the Northwest Grieg Society, and various UW ensembles. He is also an experienced church musician and member of the St. Mark's Compline Choir. When he's not singing or waving his arms, you can find him curled up with a good book or casting a line in the waters of the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

Read more about our guest artists, Northwest Sound!

Northwest Sound Men’s Chorus is a premier a ca****la men’s chorus that is part of the Barbershop Harmony Society. We share a society chapter and leadership team with Northwest Mix, an all-voices chorus.

With a 40-year winning tradition, our competitive chorus has won many regional championships and has performed for thousands on the international competition stage. We are honored to have won the 2025 Evergreen District championship last fall (representing chapters from across the Pacific Northwest, from Oregon to Alberta to Alaska), and thereby to represent the district at the International competition in St. Louis, Missouri this July. But aside from competition, we love singing for local audiences around the Bellevue/Seattle area, and just getting together to share our love of tight four-part harmonies.

Countless quartets have formed from among our ranks over the years, performing locally and internationally. Our members are educators, doctors, IT professionals, tradesmen, just about every kind of profession; and every age group is represented, too. But we have one thing in common - a love for making beautiful harmony to entertain our audiences. Join us or learn more at www.northwestsound.org and www.aca****lanorthwest.org.

We're pleased to once again offer ASL interpretation at our upcoming concert!

Many audience members told us how much they enjoyed watching the music interpreted through sign language at our last performance, and we're excited to continue making Ensign concerts more accessible and welcoming for everyone.

We look forward to seeing you on June 12th at Benaroya Hall!
