Rain City Slam is a new slam in Seattle that presents an open mic, a spoken word competition (a slam) and a featured artist set every week at Jai Thai on Capitol Hill. Admission for this event is $3 and the show starts at 8pm (so get there early to get on the list). Every last Wednesday of the month, Rain City Slam is proud to present Liner Notes; a poetry showcase that pays tribute to musical artists. At this show, poets are assigned songs from a predetermined musical album. The poets have a one month timeframe to write a poem inspired by the song assigned to them. The Liner Notes show consists of these poems with previews of the songs as an amazing tribute. Admission for this event is $5 and the show starts at 8pm. Poets who would like to participate in Liner Notes can sign up every FIRST Wednesday of the month.
