Darrah Blanton Dance offers classes for ages 18 months-8 years in two Seattle neighborhoods--Ballard and Capitol Hill as well as in Bellingham. Classes are taught in a nurturing environment that is fun, non-competitive and encourages creative expression. Darrah Blanton has been teaching children’s dance since 1999. She specializes in ballet, tap, creative movement, parent-toddler, beginning jazz,

and musical theater. Each class includes the BrainDance and a different dance concept each week. As a child growing up in Bellingham, Washington, Darrah studied with Wendy Setter at the Dance Studio and with Isabel and Teo Morca at the Morca Academy. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Washington with a double degree in Dance and English. Darrah has performed at the University of Washington, Velocity, Seattle Center, The Chamber Theater, On The Boards, and Freehold Theater. She lives with her husband and their two young sons in Bellingham.

Popup Creative Movement/Beginning Ballet in Elizabeth Park
Tuesday, June 2nd 4:00-4:45pm
Ages 3-8
$18 per child
RSVP required via DM

We'll be in the grassy area just south of the bathrooms. Sneakers are best for footwear. Dancers may wear comfortable clothes or dance attire. More classes are coming!

Popup Creative Movement/Beginning Ballet in Elizabeth Park
Thursday May 21st, 4:00-4:45pm
Ages 3-8
$18 per child
RSVP required (DM to reserve a spot)

We'll be in the grassy area just south of the restrooms. Sneakers are best for footwear. Dancers may wear comfortable clothes or dance attire—Elizabeth Park often has a cool breeze even on warm days, so please bring a layer for your child. More classes are coming!

That's a wrap on our Bellingham winter/spring session! I've been doing this for 27 years and I still love it. Bellingham families, keep an eye on your email and our socials for pop up classes in Elizabeth Park this summer. Seattle families, the last week of your session is coming up on May 18th and May 20th, and you are invited to watch the last 15 minutes of your child's class on those days. Camp Description:

Ballet Stories Camp
Dive into the captivating world of ballet in this week-long camp! Students will explore famous stories like The Nutcracker and Swan Lake, learning simplified choreography, and developing their dance skills. They'll also unleash their creativity by crafting original choreography inspired by these timeless tales. Through engaging activities, including play, crafts, and imaginative storytelling, students will gain a deeper understanding of ballet and its artistry. The week concludes with a showcase performance for loved ones.
