Located on Seattle’s First Hill, the Frye Art Museum first opened its doors in 1952 as the legacy of Charles and Emma Frye, prominent early-twentieth-century Seattle business leaders and art collectors. The collection includes nineteenth- and early-twentieth-century German and American paintings, as well as more contemporary works that bridge visual art, media, and installation. The Museum also ho

sts a wide variety of rotating exhibitions featuring local, national, and international artists. All visitors are welcome to join a wide variety of programming and events, from free daily tours to film screenings, concerts, artist lectures, and more. The Museum also features a Café serving made-from-scratch seasonal bites alongside beverages and desserts. The Museum Store features a curated collection of one-of-a-kind items from Pacific Northwest designers and artists.

Get to know Tom Lloyd—the man, the activist, and the artist—from those who knew him best. Lloyd’s children, Carol Lloyd and Jaleel El Shabazz, and Studio Museum in Harlem curator Connie Choi, who has lead new research into Lloyd's work, will be joined by Frye exhibition curator Tamar Benzikry to explore Lloyd's artistic innovation and enduring advocacy on June 7.

Revisit the work of Frye collection artist Sky Hopinka this Friday, May 15, at Seattle Film Critics Society (SFCS) & Northwest Film Forum's "An Evening with Sky Hopinka" event! Watch seven of Hopinka's short films & stick around for a post-screening Q&A with the artist.

This weekend Hopinka will also be honored by SFCS with the John Hartl Pacific Northwest Spotlight Award at the Seattle International Film Festival presentation of his new feature length film "Powwow People" on May 17th.
