Remembering the incredible light that is Dolly Parton.

While the news about her passing is heartbreaking, her legacy of music, kindness, and joy will live on forever. From staying up past my bedtime to watch her on TV as a little girl to her endless philanthropy, she has been a beautiful presence in my life.

She lived such a full life, and this is how I will always remember her, full of life, full of love, and singing beautifully. Rest in peace you legend. ❤️🦋

¿Apoyar a la comunidad o pura hipocresía disfrazada? 🤔🎭

Que curioso cómo muchos se llenan la boca hablando de “latinos en conexión”, "unidad cultural" y "apoyar lo nuestro" con la banderita de MÉXICO en alto, pero a la hora de la hora salen con unas excusas más infantiles que nada.

Para empezar, esto me a pasado varias veces pero esta vez la idea principal era ir a un evento normal, no de ir en personaje de Catrina; yo solo les compartí la información por si les interesaba el evento.

Pero responder con que “no les dijimos”, o “no las invitamos pork la Catrina le va a quitar show"… osea como les vamos opacar un espectáculo. Cosa que para mi es un alago pero neta… neta?

¡Por favor!

Acuérdense del Mundial aquí en Seattle: ahí sí bien felices de la vida metieron luchadores, catrinas, folclor y toda la parafernalia para presumir la cultura MEXICANA, colgándose del mundial para lucirse.

Pero cuando se trata de talento REAL — local, ahí sí salen con sus exclusiones ridículas.

Que les quede bien claro:

La Seattle Catrina no anduvo en nada del mundial
Y va donde quiere, no ocupa permiso de nadie y mucho menos anda pidiendo la dejen ir, a mi me invitan. Si estoy en este medio, es para hacer comunidad de verdad, no para andar aguantando doble moral a conveniencia según el tamaño del ego, evento o la inseguridad ajena.

Menos poses de "comunidad" y más congruencia, por favor, GRACIAS. ¿A quién más le ha tocado ver esta misma hipocresía? 👇✨

If your worth is tied to how many people are watching, you will always be a prisoner to their attention. We see the desperate attempts to be validated, the constant noise to avoid the quiet realization that the applause is temporary.

The Seattle Catrina doesn’t seek permission to exist. She doesn’t rewrite her story to fit a trend or appeal to the mainstream. The bone remains long after the applause dies down. Starve the ego, feed your purpose.
