How fired up am I that I get to DJ tomorrow night at T-Mobile Park, sometimes considered my home away from home.
I'll be there from gates opening at 4:40 p.m. until the bottom of the fourth inning. And then I will hightail it to the stands to watch the Mariners beat up on the yankees.

Just such a wonderful couple of days at Midwest DJs Live in Milwaukee.
I really enjoy coming to DJ conferences. It's maybe the best way I have to improve my skills for my couples.
There were SO many eye-opening presentations and workshops. Lots of information on marketing and business and mixing. Some great meals with long-time friends in the field.
Probably for me the most special was hearing Mark Ferrell, who has spent most of his life advocating for DJs to enhance their professionalism and relationship with their couples.
Wedding season is almost upon us and I am SO stoked.

DJ's LOVE to talk about dance music. (And so do a lot of couples.) So it was a lot of fun to join Greg Lowder of Affairs To Remember DJ Entertainment and David Schwartz of Orion Entertainment on the most recent episode of Reid Johnson's Best Made Weddings Podcast.
We had a 10-round "draft" where we each picked a song that we'd REALLY want to have ready to rock a dancefloor.
Because he is a videographer not a DJ, host Reid choose to use a cheatsheet. He definitely held his own with his picks.
I love my lineup: started off with Shut up and Dance with the #2 overall pick and I bounced on Uptown Funk with the #6 pick.

One of the big challenges for couples planning a wedding is knowing how to pick from different professionals. In the case of a venue, you can walk around. A photographer or videographer, you can view their work. A caterer or baker, you can taste it.
But hiring a DJ can be TOUGH.

It is hard to convey the emotions that Covid-19 has thrust upon 2020 couple. It's just SO hard to have a vision of what you want your once-in-a-lifetime event to be and then have to make some really tough decisions about how to adjust.
I had the chance to chat about that on Reid Johnson's Best Made Weddings Podcast. Excluding me, he brought the star power with Anne Marie Juhlian of Annemarie Juhlian, Seattle Wedding Officiant & Contemporary Minister and Jenny GG of Jenny GG Photography (Who just last week were awarded Best Officiant and Best Photography by Seattle Bride Magazine!)

Couples in 2020 are faced with a LOT of decisions about how to handle their ceremonies and receptions. One of the popular paths is to do a ceremony in 2020 and plan for a reception in 2021.

One of the biggest questions about their weddings right now is whether they can still be fun in the Covid 19 era. All couples are wanting to make sure their their celebrations are still memorable.
I was so excited to get to discuss that with two of Seattle's most-respected wedding DJs: Greg Lowder of Affairs To Remember DJ Entertainment and DJ Gumbeaux of Magnolia Rhapsody DJ. We try to dish out a lot of practical ways that couples can adjust to make sure everything is fun.
For years,host Reid Johnson has done a remarkable job with his Get to Know Your Wedding Pro Podcast podcast, where he features the stories of wedding vendors. And now this Best Made Weddings Podcast series - which is roundtables of different vendor categories - allows him to go deeper and help answer many couples' questions in more depth.
