Next up: Monday, February 16, Alasdair White and Ross Martin, two trad superstars of Scottish music.
From Arisaig in the West Highlands, renowned guitarist Ross Martin is probably on your favorite Scottish album. His distinctive approach to accompaniment - rhythmic, driving, and full of nuance - has made him a sought-after collaborator and a backbone of contemporary Scottish traditional music.
Alasdair White is widely regarded as one of the leading exponents of Scottish music. His deep rooted musicality reflects his Isle of Lewis birthplace, his current New York City home, and over 20 years globe-trotting with some of the best known names in traditional music, including Dàimh and Battlefield Band. These are two masters at the top of their craft, bringing the Gaidheltachd to venues thousands of miles from home.
This will be a hot ticket and we'll need a lottery to select who gets a seat. From today until February 1, you can reply to this email and tell me how many seats you want to reserve (up to 3). Two weeks before the concert (February 2), I'll let you know if you got in, or if you're on the waiting list. Don't despair if that's where you end up--we often clear many of those as people's plans change.
Update: we have 81 requests for 43 seats. We're seeing if a second show is possible. To get on the mailing list email [email protected]
