This is called Musicians at MoNA Opening, 16x12 inches, mixed media on paper, based on a photo I took at the opening of the Nancy Mee exhibition. My painting at MoNA sold to one of the biggest donors to the museum. I have noticed what she has bought in past years and I am now in a very impressive collection of living and passed away Northwest artists! I am thrilled! Museum of Northwest Art

There are 2 days left to bid on my painting! There are 2 bids on it right now. My painting is called San Juan Island Reflections and is an abstract seascape based on the view from the Guemes Island ferry dock on the Anacortes side. It's a view I have seen thousands of times in my life because my childhood home was on Guemes. It has been said that "you can never go back home," but I do many nights in my dreams. I massively altered the painting I posted yesterday and I like it better now. It's called Botanical in Vermillion, about 12x9 inches, mixed media on paper, inspired by a photo I took of an Emma Rose bush at my local hospital. My rent is going up dramatically so I won't be buying flowers or plants anymore, but there are plenty around for me to photograph!

Last night was the Prelude Party at Museum of Northwest Art and the artwork was stunning! The silent auction is open for bidding:

Silent auction bidding goes on for two weeks and the live auction is on May 30. Tickets are sold out but you can bid by proxy. I am in the silent auction.

This is my framed San Juan Island Reflections abstract seascape framed for the 2026 MoNA Art Auction! It is at the museum now. The Prelude Party is Friday and I'll be there along with my guest and other artists, donors, collectors, and people in the industry. The people attending the Prelude Party will get 1st dibs on bidding on silent auction items, with a buy-it- now option, and silent auction bidding will open to the general public online after the party is over. The paintings in both the live and silent auction are hung in the museum and people at the party on Friday will see the show first, then I think it opens to the public on Saturday, where you may go see all of the paintings on display in person at MoNA in La Conner, Washington!

This is called Sailboat at Dusk in Port Townsend Bay, 11x14 inches, mixed media on paper, inspired by a photo I took in Port Townsend last week. I looked and suddenly this stunning sailboat appeared, I took its picture, then didn't pay attention for awhile, then looked again and it was gone. I abstracted the scene some, but it did had a black hull like this, a dark wood middle beam, I don't know what it's called, and a cream colored sail.
