Did You Know: Founded in 1666, The Odd and Curious Society’s founding members gave reports of Nebula. Second only to Sasquatch sightings in the Pacific Northwest, it is the most popular subject on record for our members.

Do our dreams inspire our creations, or is it the other way around? Step into the dreamworld of Nebula Seattle with scenic artist Parmida Ziaei.

An award-winning multidisciplinary artist born and raised in Iran, Parmida has spent her career
creating extraordinary worlds for audiences to inhabit. In the dreamworld, her work explores the
intersection of installation art, architecture, and live performance.

Her scenic design has graced stages across Seattle, including The 5th Avenue Theatre, Seattle
Rep, Village Theatre, and Seattle Children’s Theatre. She’s also a performer, choreographer,
and co-founder of Seda Iranian Theatre Ensemble.

Now, Parmida is bringing her remarkable imagination to Nebula Seattle with an installation in
the Threshold room that bends scale and perception, exploring the deep end of our
subconsciousness.

This October, we will introduce you to the artists dreaming Nebula into existence.

Is it or isn’t it? This hologram on glass from MXT Realiry seems frozen in time until detective Drew beckons you to come closer.

Detective Drew spent hours in interrogation to come up with the perfect rendition of themselves, fit for the artists at MXT reality to transpose beautifully into our gallery.

We’re looking for Seattle community organizations who would be excited to receive a block of 10–20 complimentary preview tickets, experience Nebula Seattle together, and then tell us what they think. Cafe Nordo friends, you know a thing or two about stepping through a door and finding yourself somewhere unexpected.

Now, as we build Nebula Seattle, we need your help inviting some of our first dreamers inside.

In May 2027, we’re planning a series of community previews of Nebula—our new 22,000-square-foot explorable storyworld in Pioneer Square, filled with art, performance, mysteries, and more than a little of the unique magic you may remember from Nordo.

We want to learn from a wide range of communities before we officially open—and hopefully begin relationships that continue long after the doors are open.

Want to help us test-drive a dreamworld? Before Nebula Seattle opens its doors, we need a few good dreamers.

We’re assembling a volunteer crew to help with our first community preview experiences in spring 2027. You could find yourself keeping watch over the dreamworld as a Docent, going undercover as a Field Observer, or helping us learn from our first guests as a Survey Host.

And raising your hand now does something important...

Nebula is applying for a City of Seattle Neighborhood Matching Fund grant to help us welcome Seattleites into the dreamworld for free. Volunteer pledges count toward the community match we need for our application—and we need those pledges this week.

There’s no strict obligation right now. Just tell us you’re interested, and we’ll follow up with dates, details and scheduling options closer to the previews.

This fake wall was created to obfuscate the serious construction work happening outside of the lobby space we used for the Cabinet of Dreams Gallery Show. The vinyl printed design created by Jody Rieck with photography by Bruce Clayton Tom and an ethereal soundscape by Nicholas Sowers was so intriguing that 1 out of every 2 people who visited the show tried the door k**b.
