Hot Glass Color supplies the glass blowing community with the largest selection of Kugler Colors in North America, including bar, frit, powders and cane. We also carry a variety of glassblowing tools and the largest selection of lampworking supplies in Seattle. We have a wide selection of COE 33 glass (TAG, Glass Alchemy, Northstar, Molten Aura, New Color Company), and also include COE 104 including Friedrich Beadmaking 104. We also have a wonderful selection of borosilicate glass including Simax Tubes and rods, Northstar, Glass Alchemy, Momka, Trautman colors such as Elvis, Borostix by Origins, and More. We stock specialty products such as glassblowing and lampworking tools as well as dichroic glass and torches.

🏆 Celebrating the Hot Glass Color Artist Appreciation Award!

At Hot Glass Color & Supply, we love finding ways to amplify artists and support the people pushing glass in new directions. That’s why we’re proud to sponsor the Hot Glass Color Artist Appreciation Award in conjunction with the Pilchuck Auction.

This year’s award recognizes Los Angeles-based multidisciplinary artist, instructor, and fabricator Danielle Brensinger Dani B. for her creativity, experimentation, and the personal history that informs her work.

Danielle works across torchwork, glassblowing, and mixed media, exploring craft, repetition, labor, and care. Her work draws from family history and experiences, transforming ideas around domestic work into something new through glass.

The award will support Danielle’s continued exploration of color, materials, and techniques across her creative practice. 🎨🔥

We’re honored to help amplify Danielle’s work and support her continued experimentation!

There are some journeys we may make several times, and others we can only make once.  Seattle Glassblowing Studio and Hot Glass Color are saddened to hear that Paul Marioni has made his final journey; our hearts and deepest condolences are with his family.

A founding member of the American studio glass movement, Paul Marioni was deeply influential in the artistic development of glass makers around the world.  From his early work in stained glass to his applications of enamel paintings on blown glass or photography on cast glass, Paul's innovative techniques and designs opened the limitless capacities of glass for generations to come.  He was known for pushing the boundaries of glass and his impact is felt across the spectrum of glass media.  As a mentor and instructor Paul was instrumental in defining the teaching structures at institutions like Pilchuck Glass School and Penland School of Craft where his legacies are felt to this day.

As owner Cliff Goodman, who first met Paul at the 1981 Glass Art Society conference in Seattle, says, "He was a towering figure in glass, he really shaped what imagery meant for a lot of artists.  But I remember him most as a deeply caring person who cared about the whole world.  He was always open to sharing his ideas and techniques and he would always listen.  And he was passionate about how much he cared, he really *felt* it man, he cared about the issues of the day.  The world needs more people like him." 

Though we are heartbroken for so great a loss, the memories and the spirit of his legacy are eternal.
