Despite receiving zero likes on my last post, I'm back to share that now thru mid-May, I'm hosting 1:1 coffee breaks at The Station Coffee House - Beacon Hill, in lieu of an artist reception. This was my favorite song for a minute as a lil eBellz. I remember the bassline making my grandma's house hum and buzz -- especially on the kitchen floor. My favorite part was the adlib "comin' up, Jesus!" and "I'm looking, I'm looking for my starry crown."

That's my thigh, in the middle.

I have a recently deceased biological father, a deceased chosen father, a former stepfather... Only one made a deep (and positive) impact, and has left the biggest hole.

Mesfin, my chosen father.

This piece is called Sweetheart ('cause that's what he called me and that's what he was). I started it in his honor post-Father's Day 2022 and have worked on it off and on since. And it's still not done, but I felt compelled to put it out there this year.

Happy Father's Day, Mesfin. Miss you. Love you. Thank you.
