What makes a song Truly Timeless?
Someone asked this question at The Vocalist Studio Group. I thought the answer should be shared with everyone, not only musicians.

Excellent question! A truly timeless song not only exhibits the fundamentals of solid songwriting—like engaging lyrics, melodies, harmonies, and rhythms—but it goes beyond that.
For a song to be considered timeless, it needs to encapsulate a specific era, reflecting its social and personal dynamics. It should have the power to emotionally transport listeners back to those times. When we say, "This song reminds me of when I was..." or it evokes a period you may not have personally experienced but feel a connection to or curiosity about, that’s when you know a song has achieved timelessness.
One more thing. And… these feelings are shared amongst an enormous group of people, multiple millions.
Summary:
- great songwriting arrangement.
- it literally takes us back to a time.
- Millions of people agree.
