The Khmer Acting Lab is a FREE NO COST, one afternoon a week session of acting classes held at the ACT Theatre in Seattle for Cambodians and other SE Asian aspiring actors for a yet to be produced play portraying the Cambodian American experience. One of the main goals will be to cast as many actors of Cambodian and SE Asian descent. We recognize that there are not many SE Asians with acting experience and this class serves to change that. The Khmer Acting Lab is designed to help interested SE Asian folks gain the necessary skills for becoming convincing, clear and effective performers in live theatre techniques. Director Victor Pappas and UW Professor of Drama Mark Jenkins are offering these classes FREE OF CHARGE. With their extensive years of experience training actors and their reputation in the theatre world, these classes are a wonderful opportunity for individuals not only aspiring to become actors but will also add to those seeking to have a more effective presence in front of an audience in work and personal life. We want this to be an authentic representation of the life and culture of Cambodian Americans and we want you to be a part of the journey in telling the story.
