Washington Clay Arts Association

Washington Clay Arts Association Membership is open to everyone who is interested in ceramic art created in Washington state. Join or You may send in your own posts to have them distributed.

As a clay artist who joins the Washington Clay Arts Association you are able to expand your personal and career development in ceramic art. We are an all-volunteer club which hosts two annual Socials, one major Spring exhibition with cash awards, group sales, pit firings, potlucks, studio visits, and artist presentations. We connect a 400 (and counting) database of WCA Members, and Friends of the

WCA . Our list serve sends out clay news by email as it comes in, keeping clay artists current on statewide events in the larger ceramic arts community. Equipment sales, openings, calls-to-art, workshop listings offered at community studios- we get the news to where it needs to go. Our creativity comes from inspiring one another. We have great long-standing traditions, and constantly reinvent ourselves to respond to current needs. The WCA board approves all member proposals when there is a defined benefit to the ceramics community. WCA funds can be accessed to help with gallery show expenses. For 2014 we will continue to upgrade our technological capacity and skill levels to get Washington Clay Artists ever more visible. Board meetings are open. Members may contribute their ideas and branch out by connecting to other clay artists. With membership fees, we are able to purchase equipment for facilitating workshops, publicity, and to pay presenters. We are committed to promoting our members, especially those who want to help unite clay artists of Washington State. The WCA has endured because all clay artists benefit when we act in the spirit of service to one another. Help extend the scope and reach of the WCA. What do we want?
- Community building and Education!

When do we want it?
- April 2026!

WCA seeks to organize a kiln maintenance workshop for members with Brian from Happy Kiln

In order to do that, we need a space to host in person as well as Wi-Fi for zoom streaming and recording.

Ideally, this would take place in April 2026

We are sad to share the news of the passing of Marge Levy

Shared with permission from The Clay Corner Seattle

We are saddened to share the news of our studio member Marge Levy’s passing.
With nearly 70 years of clay background we felt honored that she spent the last several years calling our studio home! Marge loved being amongst what she called the young people, she’d often stop the staff to say– this is just wonderful, speaking of the energy in our community! “

Please read their full post tribute to Marge and how they plan to honor her and how you can be part of this.
