Clipper Racer

Clipper Racer I’m Clipper crew on the 2017-18 race going round the world and created this page as a central location from which to share photos and updates.

Clipper Bio:
My father was a ship’s carpenter, and the marina was our playground. My brothers and I would race down the dock and leap onto the boat-lift slings, swinging, laughing, far over the water. We swam as toddlers and ventured off in dinghies, rowboats - anything that floated. Time took me inland but I always looked to the water. One day my kids were grown and I hopped on a Laser. I sailed

the summers away, never wanting to go in – I needed a bigger boat! I can’t explain the feeling, but the more I sail, the hungrier I get. I want to go further and I want to go faster. I want the shore to slip away, to feel the ocean swells beneath the boat. I want to follow the wind.

Hiya all. I've been out sick for some many months now (long story, yawn), but thanks to my friend Lizzy Grim my first sail post surgery is on Barbie's Dream Boat in the Pink Boat Regatta! Crew goal is to raise $1000 for breast cancer research. Thank you for your support! ⛵️
