New Moon Movement Arts New Moon Movement Arts is a movement studio in Seattle, WA specializing in aerial circus arts.

New Moon Movement Arts is a movement space in Seattle’s Greenwood neighborhood specializing in aerial circus arts. New Moon opened in January 2024 upon the closure of Greenwood’s former aerial studio, Versatile Arts. We strive to uphold the high-caliber coaching, safety-minded practice, and community-oriented approach for which Versatile Arts was recognized. At New moon, our mission is to create a welcoming space where movement is fun and all bodies are welcome. We believe that physical activity and social interaction are critical to our mental, physical, and emotional well-being and we aim to create and foster a community-centric environment where moving feels good and challenges are attainable. New Moon owes an immeasurable debt of gratitude to Beverly Sobelman of Versatile Arts for the support and assistance that made us happen.

Our Vertical 2c/3a fabric choreo class has been so popular we thought we'd a second, slightly lower level choreography class. This class meet Sunday nights at 6:30pm - the perfect time to get all your weekend activities in and still squeeze in a little extra fun before the work week starts!

Mini Workshop with Jenn B !

Idea Factory: Creative Strategies
Friday, Oct 2nd, 5pm
$20

The key to consistent high quality creative work is not talent or inspiration, its process. In this discussion we explore traditional methodologies for creative process and divergent thinking. Whether you are creating your first act, planning for classes, or just trying to get out of a creative rut to process and toolkit is the same.

New Class!!

Performing with Feeling: Fabric Choreography Development
Instructor: Amanda Thornton

Have you ever wanted to express the creative ideas that flood your mind when you're supposed to be working, sleeping, or doing anything that isn't aerial? Come learn how to sort through all those skills and ideas that have been mounting throughout your time as an aerialist! Let coach Amanda guide you through the creative process and help shape your ideas into a cohesive act that expresses the creative energy you have been dying to tap into. In this class we will build stamina, organize our thoughts and ideas, try some new movements based on old tricks, and have space to share what we are working on with a supportive class.

Participants should either have an act in process that they want to finish or refine, or be interested in starting a new act that will not be finished by the end of the course.

Note: This class meets for 4 weeks only - Oct 4, 11, 18, 25.
