At UCU, fans can choose from a wide varieof hand-crafted goods, including clothing of all types, jewelry, gifts, bags, wallets, buttons, accessories, aprons, children's goods, toys, housewares, paper goods, candles, kits, art, food, and much, much more. ases over 100 vendors excelling in the world of craft, art and design. Over the course of 8 years, UCU has garnered so much attention that nearly 12,000 fans swarmed to the show over the course of the last winter show weekend.

It is with a very heavy heart that I wanted to let the UCU family know that my dear friend Moxie passed away Thursday evening. It’s honestly hard to write this as I just can’t believe it. I don’t want to. It’s just too soon.

I met Moxie because a friend had told me about an artist I NEEDED to check out because they made the most amazing finger puppets. So I went to check out these finger puppets and met Moxie. I invited her to participate in a show I did called Plush You at my store called Schmancy. Moxie and I quickly hit it off and I asked her if she might want to teach people how to needle felt as a kick off to the show. We sat at Victrola and made each other giggle a lot and I knew I had met a new favorite person. A bit later Moxie alerted me to the fact that UCU was hiring so I applied and got the job. When I started with UCU Moxie was the President and we often shared a booth together which was so much fun. One night she told Lindsey and I she was quitting because she had an amazing opportunity to install her art at the Bellevue Art Museum. I was so proud and excited for her but she left a big hole in the UCU work for me. We used to yell a lot (in a fun and goofy way) and crack each other up and throw fun parties. Who would I do that with now?

We are so excited to introduce you to the artist who made our show poster for our Summer Show which is being held July 25th & 26th at Magnuson Park Hangar 30! Please say hello to .sidore. Tamiko joined us for the first time last summer and we loved their art and booth so we were thrilled when Tamiko said she’d do the art for the summer poster. We can’t wait to see it around town before the big show. In the meantime, go give Tamiko a follow and learn more about this artist.⁠
