Grapheme Grapheme is a letterpress studio and retail shop located in Seattle's Central District. Full class schedule on our website.

We offer regular Introduction to Letterpress Printing classes and press rentals once you've taken the class. We carry organizational and office products in-shop, as well as other paper products and stationery that encourage clarity, creativity, precision, and self-reflection. We look for clean design and attention to detail in all of our products, whether produced in-house or by our distributors w

orldwide, because we believe that smart design has the capacity to influence our mental space. Our letterpress and book arts workshops provide a structured way to focus and hone attention toward the creation of beautiful and functional objects that serve this mission. Grapheme will be open today, Friday 1/30. However, in support of MN and what is variously being called the National General Strike and the National Day to Support Immigrants, we will be donating 50% of the day’s sales to and making additional individual donations as well.
If you happen to be in the neighborhood, we have free On Tyranny postcard sets available at the shop. Cash preferred otherwise whenever possible.

Come celebrate the 10th anniversary of Grapheme!! To mark ten years of business, we’ve made a 2026 tiny letterpress + vintage postage stamp calendar, and we’ll be giving away ten of them in the shop this week (two each day, this Wednesday-Sunday)! We’ll also have 25% off any purchase and a variety of other grab bag items and giveaways. It will be our biggest sale of the year! I’ll be there for the first half of most days, and Flora and Elise will be there to say hello if I’m not! Stop on by and help us celebrate! 🥰
