Auspicious New Years celebration today. It is Auspicious because today is the day that has two winds, according to Tibetan astrology. The day has sublime energy to quickly accomplish ones wishes. May all sentient beings wishes be fulfilled. 🙏🙏🙏

Wishing everyone an abundance of love and well being for the upcoming Female Iron Ox New Year.

"This special Ox is for the upcoming Tibetan New Year on February 12th. The “Buddhist Digital Resource Center” in Cambridge, Massachusetts asked me to make a small painting for their New Year’s invitations.

At first I thought about doing a cute painting like a funny cartoon, but I thought something about that was not working. I decided that since this year continues with COVID-19, loss of jobs and loss of life around the world, I would do something in an improvised bold Tibetan style with a good energy to purify this year’s pain and suffering.

When you look at this bull, you can see fire coming from the nose - this is to burn the coronavirus. The bull is decorated with Tibetan style ornaments and you can see two earrings representing male and female. In the center of its forehead is a white conch shell representing purification and sound. He has green eyeballs which represent Mother Earth.

I made this whole story up myself."
