Born in America, these are children of Swedish pioneer families who built a life from the land. Skagit County, Washington. Around 1905. American-born, frontier-raised. Their parents saved up and spent plenty on a 19-inch hand colored oval portrait, a family's pride and joy. The original had been through some rough times, arriving in several pieces. Scanned, retouched and printed on archival paper.

This one was a challenge, taking over 3 hours to complete. It features Henry and Ida Johnson, originally from Finland, married in 1891, immigrated to Michigan, then moved to Ballard in Seattle in 1903. From a very beat up wallet size print, we did this major photo restoration.It took over an hour and 20 minutes to complete. Cost was around $238.00 including two prints on archival paper. Thanks to the Henderson family for allowing us to use this as an example.
