THIS THURSDAY!

This month’s event will feature four shorts that walk the line between dreams and nightmares. Whether achieving transcendence or facing your greatest fear, our May event is all about the unexpected moments that warp one’s perspective:

HUBBLE TENSION by Brandon Foy: A chronically distracted man undergoes an experimental eye treatment, only to face unexpected consequences that distort his reality in increasingly surreal ways. (13 min)

FESTIVAL CHILD by Kat Hennessey: A festivalist in a neon dress with a pocket full of K, soberly stumbles across transcendence before she can even step out her front door. (8 min)

CANNIBALS by Noah Campos & Hayden Ludt: After a life-changing hit, a part-time killer can finally escape the regimen of the abused working class - all that’s left is a driver to take him to his final destination. (13 Min)

THE MAN MILKER by Matthew Rush: A man must face his greatest fear. (2 Min)
Join us for a screening and Q&A with drinks to follow at Linda's Tavern!

Thursday May 28th at the Northwest Film Forum. Doors at 6:30, Films at 7. See ya at the movies!

Following community discussions and recalibration, we're updating and resharing this event ☺️

On June 16th, Three Dollar Bill Cinema, SWACE Health, & the Seattle Film Society are proud to partner for SEATTLE IS BURNING: A One-of-a-Kind Celebration of Q***r Cinema & Ballroom Culture!

Join us as we present the winner of Three Dollar Bill’s first-ever Q***r Cinema Fellowship, followed by a local short film and a screening of PARIS IS BURNING.

After the film, SWACE Health will lead a special ballroom presentation and community Q&A exploring the history, impact, and current state of ballroom culture in Seattle - an opportunity to learn, connect, and celebrate the legacy and future of the scene.

Then we’ll keep the energy going with a late-night party to celebrate together into the night.

Tuesday, June 16th at Hidden Hall. 6pm – Late. See you there!

Tickets are now on sale for our April IN FOCUS Screening!

This event will highlight the work of renowned Seattle filmmaker SJ Chiro with a screening of her 2017 coming-of-age drama LANE 1974.

LANE 1974 (2017) is based on Clane Hayward's memoir about a 13-year-old girl living a nomadic life in 70’s Northern California communes alongside her rebellious mother and younger siblings. The film follows Lane (Sophia Mitri Schloss) as she yearns for stability and a "normal" life against the harsh realities of her mother’s off-the-grid existence. The film has been roundly praised for its authentic portrayal of childhood in a counter-culture setting, capturing the beauty and the danger of the era through a child's eye.

This film will be preceded by a screening of Chiro’s first short film LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD (2006). A Q&A between Chiro and film journalist Chase Hutchinson will follow the film.

Thursday April 16th at the Northwest Film Forum. Doors at 6:30, Film at 7. See you at the movies!
