🚀 Opening Night! The world-premiere story of Sally Ride’s remarkable life takes flight tonight at Theatre Off Jackson!

Sally Ride follows the real-life story of the first American woman and the first LGBTQ+ person to go to space. Narrated by her life partner, Tam O’Shaughnessy, who consulted on the creation of this work, this world-premier explores the thrills, disappointments, humor, and secrets of Ride’s life, taking the audience on a journey of personal exploration and triumph.

Written by composer Dana Kaufman and librettist Aiden K. Feltkamp. Directed by Eliza K. Woodyard.

Theatre Off Jackson is looking for part-time Bartenders & Venue Managers to join our Front of House team!

Located in Seattle’s International District, TOJ is home to diverse and affordable artistic performances, community events, and creative gatherings. We’re looking for folks who are excited to help create a welcoming experience for our artists and audiences.

✨ Flexible evening & occasional matinee shifts
✨ $22/hr + tips (Bartender)
✨ $23/hr (Venue Manager)
✨ Paid training provided
✨ 4–12 hours/week depending on programming

We’re especially excited to hear from people with customer service, restaurant/bar, or arts/community experience who value hospitality, communication, and supporting diverse communities.

Theatre Off Jackson is now booking rentals for upcoming dates!

Our spaces are available for performances, screenings, meetings, workshops, fundraisers, weddings, and other gatherings.

We offer two large, flexible spaces:

🦄 Downstairs Theatre
- A performance space with built-in lighting, sound, and projection, well suited for shows, screenings, panels, and larger gatherings.

🦄 Upstairs Cabaret / Gallery
- A flexible event space that works well for receptions, meetings, workshops, weddings, and smaller performances or presentations.

In addition to these, we have several smaller rooms for meetings and gatherings - for more info, visit https://theatreoffjackson.org/rentals

Rentals play an important role in supporting the theatre. They help us sustain day-to-day operations, support staff time, and maintain the building so that TOJ can continue serving artists, organizations, and community members in the Chinatown–International District.
