slowdanger's Base Residency concluded in a deep excavation of their existing research, ABYSS. Collaborating with local artists and discovering new sound recording processes allowed the duo to prepare for their upcoming presentation at the Out Front Performance Festival.

Announcing the first iteration of 12 Minutes Max for the 26/27 season in partnership with On the Boards | Seattle, WA!

When: November 22 at 5:00 PM + November 23 at 7:00 PM at Base in Georgetown.

Auditions: Sunday, September 27, 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM at Base in Georgetown.

Applications are open until September 23 at 5:00 PM, and applicants will be notified of their status by September 25.

We’re bringing 12 Minutes Max back into partnership with On the Boards | Seattle, WA, who stewarded the program from its start in 1979 to 2017 as a platform for artists to experiment and share new work. We’re honored to carry this almost 50-year legacy forward together!

All auditions and performances will continue to take place at Base in Georgetown. Stay tuned for audition information for the first 12 Minutes Max of our 26/27 season.

.f.may taught her Choreographic Idiom class in addition to engaging in a public conversation during her Base Residency alongside her collaborator . This served the development of Dreams part III, the third and final work of her trilogy.

Applications are live for next season's Base Residency! This year’s curatorial team is b s m and Juliana May. You can find the application, including the guidelines and residency dates, at the link in our bio.

Four local and three out-of-town artists will receive two-week residencies at Base between January and July 2027. The application is free and is due September 10th, 8:00 PM PT.

The Bonnies spent their Base Residency in January developing "I'm on Fire, You're on Fire, We're on Fire". The work premiered as part of Velocity Dance Center's Made in Seattle program in March, with their time at Base supporting the final stages of its production.

The Base Residency is designed to support movement-based artists exploring experimental modes of making. Applications for next season's residency open soon!
