Join us for the Dr. Jose Rizal Park Jazz Festival—an afternoon of live jazz, culture, food, community, and family fun at one of Seattle’s most beautiful parks!

This year’s festival will also include a Special Tribute honoring the memories of Kai Dana-Rene Sorem, a Filipino American from Seattle, and Lyle Prijoles from San Diego. We remember their lives with hope that their memories continue to inspire peace, justice, and compassion.

Filipino fishermen have fished the waters around Scarborough Shoal and the Spratly Islands for generations. These are Philippine waters under international law — confirmed by the 2016 Permanent Court of Arbitration ruling.
China has ignored that ruling completely.
In 2024 and 2025, Chinese coast guard vessels repeatedly used water cannons, laser devices, and physical harassment against Filipino fishermen and resupply boats. These are not distant geopolitical abstractions. These are Filipinos trying to do their jobs in their own waters.
The world needs to know what is happening here. Share this.

Yesterday, Neil Etheridge broke the internet across the Philippines.

More importantly, he broke our hearts.

A national hero. An incredible footballer. But above all, a man who truly loved the Philippines and always wore our colors with pride.

From making history as the first Filipino to play in the Premier League, to helping the Philippines qualify for its first-ever AFC Asian Cup, Neil inspired an entire generation and showed young Filipinos around the world that anything is possible.

There is really nothing we can add to his words.

They are beautiful, honest, and emotional.

On behalf of Filipino football fans everywhere, we simply want to say thank you. Thank you for everything you gave to our country. Thank you for the memories. Thank you for believing in Philippine football.

You will always be loved.

They denied him. He turned his head at the last second anyway. He was 35 years old. The book he had hidden in an alcohol lamp the night before became Mi Ultimo Adios. Spain made him a martyr. The Philippines made him immortal.
