I used to think liking someone and loving someone were almost the same thing.

Then I met someone who changed my mind.

I liked her when we talked until 3 AM, when she sent me random pictures of her day, and when seeing her name on my phone was enough to make me smile.

But I realized I loved her on the quiet days. The days when she had nothing to say. When she was distant, tired, and not quite herself. I didn’t want to fix her or ask her to pretend to be happy.

I just wanted to sit beside her.

Maybe that’s the difference.

You like someone because of how they make you feel.
You love someone even when they have nothing left to give you. 🥀🖤
