I love you too Herons Nest Garden! I got your note at breakfast…and then all day I saw your love notes all over the land. Thank you for feeding us humans, the bees, the worms, the birds, the rodents, all the animal relatives. Thank you for the work that your roots, leaves, flowers and seeds do for this world. You are brilliant! More plants less people ✊

Days 4 - 8: Canoe Journey- Paddle to Nisqually.
After landing, we witnessed 5 days of powerful Song & Dance at Protocol, hosted by the Nisqually Tribe. The Duwamish Canoe Family was joined by Duwamish Tribal Leadership and some leaders of the Snohomish Tribe. Such an honor to have them stand with us. Thank you to all those that witnessed our protocol and came down to dance during our invitationals.

Day 3 - canoe Journey. Paddle to Nisqually, landing day on 7/31. So much gratitude to the Cowlitz canoe family for helping us carry our canoe to the water. Thank you to the Steilacoom Tribe for hosting a soft landing on their territory, it was beautiful and such a warm welcome. Thank you to the Nisqually Tribe for welcoming us ashore on their territory. We are so excited to share song and dance this week.

Day 2 - Paddle to Nisqually. Duwamish Canoe Family departs Blake Island for Puyallup Territory.

Thank you to the Puyallup Tribe of Indians for graciously welcoming and hosting us. So much gratitude to those that helped us carry our canoe on shore. The food, song and dance was a gift. Thank you to this amazing canoe family that fills our bellies with laughter with each stroke. Thank you to our amazing ground crew and support boats, you keep us safe and pampered. Tomorrow we pull to our final destination, Nisqually Territory.
