Just had a trip down the memory lane. I went digging to find if this was one of the first songs that I ever wrote. Nope, I wrote a lot of songs back then. This is not even top5. Others are still waiting their turn. But, this is the song that will soon see the light of day. I hope it doesn't burn to ash!
For the record, I didn't translate it to English. The rolling Rs and other fun consonants are irreplacable and have an important part in the making of the sonic atmosphere.

tl;dr I'm obsessed, send help

So, after a long winter wrapping up musical things, I was hoping to take a vacation. Then I booked a studio to record some vocals for a little fun side project that I started last year. Body didn't agree, so we changed that to a production session and worked on a different old song.
Sweet mother of Jesus hot damn cakes it slaps. 🔥
I couldn't stop thinking about it, I can't sleep, I ACCIDENTALLY got pictures that are magnificent enough for the cover art and match the story. AND I realized that I can play the guitar solo on my keytar.
I'm moving next week and I'm scrambling to get it done before I go because I don't think I can survive without having it finished RIGHT NOW.
That song existed for 20 years, no joke. It's the 3rd song I ever composed. I did add some neat things more recently, during the pandemic, but I was in such a haze that I don't even remeber how I wrote them. I found the best sampled ORGAN and I added a small orchestration for it, not the full symphonic layout, but more of a chamber orchestra and it just did some magic to the song, it sounds so cozy, warm and romantic.
I added a whole new intro, that only makes sense to make as a separate track, specifically "Ouverture".
That's enough backstory for today, gotta record now.

While the world is steadily burning, I'm busy finishing up my music projects.
I've done a lot of progress recently.
I've been composing one song together with a friend (from Kerr Ring ;)) and we finally made it to the end!
I started writing it right as pandemic was blowing up back in 2020, so it only took us 5 years 😅 But good things are worth waiting for. It's GOOOD.
Production might take another 5 😜
Hearing the song playing back all the way through with all instruments in place made my day 🤩
Another fun side of the project was working in a little music studio with access to instruments. I composed drums on a drumkit today! It's my first and it was so cool to jam along with guitar pro!

Then, rebuild the FX chain for it from the ground up.
I like it.

I will bug everyone I know how to make this set absolutely epic.
Not metal - I settled on the genre "Cinematic darkwave".

I keep my eyes and ears open, but it looks like I won't perform in Seattle anymore. I was hoping for a last "last" solo show, but can't fit it in my schedule.

I wanted to share these PNW local bands that I discovered today.
As I'm considering to perform one last time before leaving WA, I've asked AI to give me a list of local bands in similar genres. All these are wonderful and really different sounding, and none of the dates work. In terms of defining my new genre, I'm leaning towards "cinematic darkwave".
I really want to perform in Substation, that's the top of my venues list that I haven't performed in yet. The only chance for that is being ready to fill a spot if anything opens last minute.
I'm done sculpting (aka mixing) my instrumentals (aka backing tracks), but I need to elevate the vocals before sharing demos. Recently I've made leaps in my vocal performance and I need to re record every lead track 🫣
