Set sail once again with Ada Lovelace, Nicola Tesla, and Lord Byron in this original, sci-fi action/comedy that is now an audio drama! If you are new to SILöN, THE BALTIMORE PLOT introduces a secret society sailing in and out of space/time in a sentient airship. Caught in the Noösphere, where reality is formed and destroyed through the power of Ideas, some of our favorite historical figures discover that someone is undoing time. The league will swindle con artists, employ Pinkertons, and pose as secessionists to prevent the assassination of President-elect Abraham Lincoln before he can even take office. The entire ORIGINAL CAST is back! LISTEN IN starting September 21st at http://www.pendantaudio.com/shows/silon

FROM our director Meghan Arnette
I signed this and I am sharing today as the founding artistic director of Live Girls! Theater. I know I have been personally complicate in upholding white supremacy through my leadership of this company. I am pledging to work harder and do better building programs and structures that support the dismantling of systemic racism moving forward. I will listen without defensiveness when I am called out on things I am doing that are harmful.

20 years ago today Live Girls! Theater opened it’s very first show, Self Obsession in Blue by Kelleen Conway Greenfield(Blanchard)

We are taking this moment to pause, crack open our archives and take stock of 2 decades of producing and developing new work by women. Stay tuned for a new post every week beginning this fall sharing our history one year at a time. With our anniversary today we start with a sneak peek what we found from that first premiere…

Live Girls! 1999
Jessica Chisum gave us our name, Meghan Arnette and Kelleen Conway Blanchard(listed below as Greenfield) took the plunge and founded the company as co-artistic directors and wrangled chunks of a totaled Pinto down the I5 corridor strapped to the top of Meghan's car. Envelopes where licked, pagers checked, film canisters dropped off for processing all amidst the internet gold rush in and the fear of the looming Y2K armageddon. Whole paychecks were rolled into space deposits, urgent payday loans secured and blue jello was made for our audience. We learned the hard way there really is different colors of black while painting the floor.

Our floppy disks are hard to open now and not all photo copies survive for 20 years so enjoy what we found so far. And please share any images and memories you have in comments!
