Adage Ballet Academy Adage Ballet Academy is a SoDo Seattle ballet school with small classes, full-time tiers, and a pre-professional track.

We blend rigorous technique, yoga, conditioning and theory in a caring, joyful space for dancers ages 3–20.

We are thrilled to celebrate Lina Skalbania .the.ballerina, a graduating dancer from Adage Ballet Academy’s Adagio Tier, who has accepted a paid company position with Ballet Melange @ballet.melange for the 2026–2027 season.

Lina is an elegant, refined, and deeply musical dancer. Throughout her training at Adage, she has distinguished herself through her beautiful extensions and natural confidence in partnering. She is especially at home in neoclassical repertoire, where her clarity of movement and musical sensitivity allow her artistry to shine. Beyond her technique, Lina brings expressive depth, dedication, focus, and a collaborative spirit into the studio and rehearsal process. Her commitment to her craft has been evident in every aspect of her work, and we are so proud to see her take this next step into a professional setting.

In the first two years of our Adagio Tier program, 100% of graduating dancers have continued into professional-track placements, including pre-professional training programs, trainee programs, and professional contracts.

This year at Adage Ballet Academy was filled with growth, opportunity, collaboration, and milestones we will carry with us for years to come.

From W.B.A.C. Grand Prix placements, Adage Ballet Ensemble performances, guest artist opportunities, and our first Nutcracker: Kingdom of the Dolls, to live performance outings at Pacific Northwest Ballet for Cinderella and Giselle, our Cascade PBS collaboration for the Viewers Like Me campaign, and the season-ending production of Aurora’s Wedding, our students continued to grow as dancers, performers, artists, and young professionals.

We are deeply grateful to every student, family, faculty member, guest artist, collaborator, and supporter who helped make this season so meaningful.

Thank you for believing in the work we do — and in the young artists who bring it to life.

2025–2026 was truly a season to remember.

Our faculty member Jessica had a brilliant idea this week — placing beanbag pillows stop the head during pointe barre to help dancers keep their gaze lifted and maintain true aplomb (posture) while strengthening the feet and toes.

No looking down… just trust, alignment, and control.

We had so much fun trying this in Abby Jayne’s class — and the dancers rose to the challenge beautifully. Strong work, everyone! 💛

We are hnored to share that the Viewers Like Me campaign we helped develop for Cascade PBS has been nominated for a Northwest Emmy® Award 🎉

This project explored themes that resonate deeply with us: access to the arts, the challenges of an artistic life, and representation through dance, including boys in ballet.

Cascade PBS partnered with Adage Ballet Academy and choreographer Guillaume Basso to help develop the choreographic sequences for the animated dancer. We were proud to serve as a ballet reference for the project, and grateful for the care the team took in researching ballet training so it could be portrayed with authenticity.

We’re also happy to share sketches by lead animator Lucas Marchi , created live while observing classes at Adage. It was such a cool experience for our dancers to be captured in this way!

Congratulations to the whole creative team on this beautiful recognition.
