💡Changing the Conversation: Chronic Pain share with us.

Excellent subject is the importance of words in medicine, in particular talking about chronic pain especially lower back pain.
After many days in ultra confinement for some of us and after our bodies suffered from the lack of movement, we thought it would be a good conversation to bring forward.

🔮 Psychedelic film noir

"My girlfriend had a vision of dressing up as a sexy grape and this is what happened.
I guess I was going for a psychedelic film noir kind of look."

going all psychedelic with his sexy grape girlfriend

I love this so much, I really need to step up my game and start taking pics more often. Fromthe darkness emerges the brightest beauty… Hey, did I just write that?

☀️Azur Aura

"Today I’ve been able to enjoy the sun walking on the beach. Rediscovering the smile of my fellow people of Nice, contemplating the Mediterranean sea and its soft welcoming waves… all of this gave me the impulse to dance on these vibes surrounding me since this morning.
Randomly I ended up listening to a mixtape by the DJ Vunky Lao which was the perfect track to illustrate my feelings.
The tune was going perfectly with what I had in mind. So I closed my eyes and I threw the groove I had inside me into that instant in order to symbolise the colour of that day in my city: the Azur Blue.
Hip-hop dance makes me happy, it is a way for me to open my mind and explore everything I don’t dare doing or saying in my life."

Getting out of this full on isolation makes you rediscover your own city and surroundings. Thank you for sharing your vibes with us.

🌹Its eternal beauty has an end

“Ward is the name of the main character in my upcoming movie. His name means “Roses”, a feminin name for a young boy.
Working on that project and thinking about the gentleness of his personality, I sighted the rose I picked from my “little improvised garden” (my balcony) withering slowly but still holding its infinite and enchanting beauty. For a few seconds I thought about Life we hold in our hands and I wanted to symbolise this thought by recording a video on my balcony.
A powerful hand wearing an ancient jewel holding Life from birth until it reaches its climax and frees itself by fading into petals.”

It's so poetic and powerful. What surrounds us even though simple and so small can be so inspiring.

🤼‍♂️ No title

"This is just another craziness as we are usually doing. Here I wanted to keep a memory of us, something that represents us, so I thought about some of the main staged “cliches” (it was a night of full moon). The next day I asked Francois if he was keen to do this with me and we motivated each other. He is more than a brother, there would be thousands of things to put in pictures… I just went straight to the simplest, most iconic scenes that would illustrate our relationship and I thought it would make a beautiful series of shots."

I love how you guys pictured your relationship and this time spent in isolation. Who else wants to photograph the person they spent their confinement with?

🌩️ Thunderstorm

“My house is facing the Courthouse.
I stood by the window for roughly 45min with my phone trying to take pictures every few seconds to be able to capture the lightning behind the courthouse. I only got one.”

🔦 Nocturnal’s Magnifications: Bedroom

“Lightbrush can be a lot of work but the result is always really good. So I gave it another go with my vinyl station in my bedroom. This is also a tribute to my love for 70’s music with the masterpiece that is Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon."

🤡 Socially Distanced

“The idea came from different things. Music is always my starting point and it gave me the idea of a character inspired by the movie “Us”. Someone who is kind of normal but somehow holds something really disturbing within him. Then I coupled that with the fact that isolation created new social interactions and that coming back to the outside world won’t necessarily mean coming back to normal for some.
I’ve danced many times on that music in my mom’s living room, randomly each times so it was easy to replicate all that in such a space!"

from jumping back and forth on "Sweet Tooth Circus" by in his living room in
Choisy-le-Roi in France

Finally some dance moves! Who else can dance? Or cannot? I don't mind a compilation of really bad dance moves, nicely edited it can be sick!

A Museum of isolated gems

This year started a bit intensively for the whole World. Australia has been struggling with huge bush fires and then the infamous COVID-19 made its appearance, bringing a brand new range of superstars into our lives: Lock down, Confinement, their sister Quarantine and their cousin Isolation. Me and my little mind were feeling powerless as we were getting relegated to the rank of witnesses, watching the whole movie unravelled in front of our very sorry eyes. And then of course the thought of so many people getting isolated and struggling mentally came up, especially since Europe were experiencing a severe wave of new cases and countries like Italy and France were prohibiting people to leave their houses. At the very least, it would be a mental health crisis. It will ravage even the strongest of us all. This is when I started thinking about a way of getting our minds busy, being occupied creating something, whatever “something” may be. Us, small things, being part of something bigger, like ingredients are part of a recipe. The idea of an Instagram which would aim at motivating people creating and sharing what they are doing to face isolation. I thought we would need a logo illustrating the whole idea so I brought my friends Emilie Bispo and Morgane Sabouret into the mix to create Mister AR4L with all kinds of things: game cards, controller, banana, an alarm clock... All sorts of random things, like we would bring forward. My best friend Marion Plantier would help me edit the videos we would receive and our own content, she even taught me everything in order for me to survive on my own once things get back to normal. So Welcome to our Museum of Wonder, where you all belongs.

The rules are simple: content must be created inside your house and not being more than 1min long. These rules will eventually evolve depending on what happens and if the confinement is being lifted. Everyone can participate, we all have skills or the will to learn and to help each other. We are one Skype away, one message away and we can build things together and survive this. To share something with us (or bring forward ideas): via email: [email protected] or on Instagram: @arecipeforlockdown or on Facebook: A Recipe For Lockdown Peace and lots of love x Delphine
