We're partnering with Unexpected Productions this Sunday (9/13) for a special, Bar Stories edition of Inside Story.

The show will be a sort of mini-version of Bar Stories Live on Stage, with the added feature of Improv Pros acting out the stories after they are told!

We'll have Bar Stories regulars Steve Farrell and Rachel Crick queued up to tell stories, and room for a few other on-the-fly tellers from the audience!

Could one of those people be you?!

The show is at the Market Theater (at the Post Alley Gum Wall).

FREE storytelling event in Tacoma tonight! Join us at E9 Brewing for this fun, casual night of stories! If you've never tried but always wanted to get up on stage, we encourage you to come out. As long as your story true and about you, we want to hear it. No rules, except basic respect for your fellow humans and a story around 6 to 8 min, tops. Could be a romp, an anecdote, a silly recollection. Be brave! You have art inside you!

We're not looking for perfection. We don't have a lot of rules for structure or content. This is a place to be bold and get up on stage. We're a supportive community and we would love to see you there. So, bring your tales, your anecdotes or almost-an-idea for a story. As long as it's true and about you, we want to hear it.

Cheers to 3 years! Come celebrate with us at Ravenna Brewing Company tonight. Doors at 6:30, show at 7:00pm. As always, FREE show and everyone is welcome!

When we started out, we had no idea how many people were looking for a casual, no pressure place to tell their stories. We had a little idea for a slightly different kind of show. We found a spot. We called our friends. Now we have three different teams of hosts, producers and videographers, not to mention a content manager AND an intern who is helping with a podcast version of the show. We've used the format to reach seniors and veterans. We've taken the format to cultural festivals, literary crawls and we've even done it in a multi-language format with live translation.

We would like to thank the businesses that have lent us their spaces and their support. Drumlin, Ravenna Brewing Company, Machine House Brewery, E9 Brewing and Jules Maes Saloon. We would also like to thank Javann Jones. Lucy Gruidl, Dimitri Pierre-Louis, Jesi Vega, Marc Grau, Makenna Nystrom, Leah Franks, Summerlyn Walker, Derek Nunn and Anna Dery.

Thanks to all our friends and supporters who have turned out in so many different ways to support this project.

Andres told his first story at Bar Stories Live on Stage at Ravenna Brewing back in February and we knew we'd seen something special. He's been back a few times since then, last time telling the story of intersection of terrible traffic and the birth of his second child...while that very child snoozed peacefully inside his jacket in baby carrier.

Last Thursday, he took that very first story about getting lost on a beach in Mexico when he was a kid to the Moth Story Slam stage and WON!! It was a great story and beautifully told. Congratulations, Andres!

If you have ever wanted to get up and stage and tell a story, there are lots of places to find your audience. The Moth, Fresh Ground Stories, 7 Stories/7 Minutes, and of course Bar Stories Live on Stage. Not to mention the many other open mics around town. We're lucky to have such a rich storytelling community here in Seattle. We're excited to see Andres out in that wider community and proud that his first story was told with us.
