DATE CHANGE - Our Talent Show will be at 7pm October 24 at UCUCC (doors at 6:30pm). We are still waiting to share some details, but we are extremely excited to be highlighting our community in both new and old ways!

Our Trans Day of Remembrance tickets are not published yet, but stay tuned! We’ve been rehearsing, and we will have quite a lot to share with you.

STANCE set a new record for attendance at our clothing swap! We had 125 attendees in just three hours at CAM and saved thousands of dollars in clothing for our community. We had enough extra clothes to fill a truck bed of clothing for Seattle's LGBTQ+ Center , six garbage bags for a mutual aid org, and two bags for Queen Anne Helpline .

Sustainable Style Seattle let us check out their clothes and fashion runway. Sustainable Style is a mutual aid org that has a long-term clothing swap/art piece at Common Objects.

We’re also thankful to our friends at Puget Soundworks who donated so much clothing to this event!

We also can’t possibly thank our volunteers enough. They provide the backbone for this swap, and this organization as a whole. Our full volunteer team worked so hard to make this happen. Thank you for the work you do :)

Seattle Trans and Nonbinary Choral Ensemble + Sustainable Style Collab THIS SUNDAY (8/30) at Common Objects
Our friends at Sustainable Style* reached out to us to see if we could collab on our clothing swaps this Sunday, and we said yes!

STANCE will be hosting our regular swap from 1pm-4pm.
Sustainable Style will be hosting their swap from 3pm-5pm.

Sustainable Style will also be bringing their photobooth, snacks/drinks, and their wonderful selves! (the photobooth is available from 1pm-5pm)

Together, we will build solidarity. Both of our organizations are aligned in our desire to support our marginalized communities, whether it is our trans community who need clothing that matches their gender presentation, or whether we are fighting against fast fashion that exploits so many people in the Global South.

*Our friend JRAT, who is involved with Sustainable Style, gave us an AMAZING handcrafted shirt for our Silent Auction at our Spring Showcase!

We will NOT be policing your identities - come as you are, and be kind to one another.

Save the date for our Fall season! (Stay tuned for tickets!)

👚See us this Sunday (August 30) at our Fall Clothing Swap! All are welcome, regardless of identity. Bring (washed) clothes and/or a garbage bag to take clothing home! This time we will be at Common Objects (link in bio for more info)

🎤On Saturday, October 17, we will have our Talent Show. We will feature music, poetry, and more from our community.

🎵We will honor Trans Day of Remembrance on November 20 and November 21. Our concert series is titled: “The Sound of Remembrance: A Mosaic Requiem”

We will be sharing more soon. Thank you for being on this journey with us.

STANCE Audition Change for this season: Auditioning does NOT mean you are guaranteed a spot in STANCE. Learn more:

Auditioning with STANCE
STANCE is a community choir for transgender and nonbinary adults.
STANCE supports people who want to sing in a choir, develop their musical skills, perform with an ensemble and build community.
Our new-singer audition includes a supportive assessment of foundational skills such as pitch matching, musical memory, rhythm, part learning, healthy vocal placement, and willingness to respond to musical instruction.
Because space is limited, auditioning does not guarantee placement. We are especially looking for Sopranos and Basses to balance our ensemble for the Fall concert cycle.

Possible Audition Outcomes
Accepted: The applicant demonstrates the foundational readiness needed to participate successfully, and space is available in the appropriate vocal section.
Accepted with support: The applicant may join the ensemble with recommended or required participation in Intro to Music, sectionals, coaching, or other musical-development opportunities.
Qualified and waitlisted: The applicant meets the musical-readiness expectations, but space is not currently available in the appropriate vocal section.
Developmental pathway: The applicant would benefit from further development in one or more foundational areas before joining the performing ensemble and may be invited to participate in available learning opportunities and audition again during a future cycle.

The Seattle Trans and Nonbinary Choral Ensemble is doing another clothing swap!! Get rid of old clothes and find new clothes you love!

RSVP in bio, or just show up!

This swap will be at a new location - Common Objects. This is a larger space to accommodate the incredible support we have received for this event. However, it is downtown. We suggest that you carpool or take public transit. There is parking, but it may be hard to find.

Clothing swaps both keep our money in our community and fight back against fast fashion. They also make people happy. We can’t wait to see you!

What can I bring?
Please only bring washed clothes. No used socks or underwear. Accessories are welcome! Masc, femme, and anything in between is welcome! Anyone can donate. You can start bringing in clothes at 12:30pm.

Are masks required?
Yes!

How much clothes can I take?:
You can take as many clothes as you want. We will have garbage bags for you to take :)

One option for free parking (and about 10min away from Common Objects) is this lot here: 2250 7th Ave, Seattle, WA 98121
Parking is free on the weekends at this location.

📸Swipe for some pictures! The Seattle Trans and Nonbinary Choral Ensemble finished our 2026 spring season. We did our last “What Trans Joy Sounds Like” concert on Vashon Island last Thursday at the lovely . On Friday, we performed at at Volunteer Park.

Finding our communities where we can be ourselves is extremely important. Life can be pretty funky sometimes. That is why we need groups of people who truly care about creating communities that will last in the long term. It was really lovely singing on the ferry, performing with our friends, and hearing from so many of our wonderful soloists one last time (I’m sure we’ll hear from some of them again next season!!)!

Our next big concerts will be for Trans Day of Remembrance in November. We will also have a clothing swap at the end of August - keep your eyes peeled for dates and times. Thank you for making this one of STANCE’s most packed seasons ever!

Last night (June 25), we did our last “What Trans Joy Sounds Like” concert. This time, we performed at . On our ferry ride back, we sang at the very front of the on the ferry (thanks for wrangling us to one spot)!

“I Shall Have Had My Day” by .thys . We are singing, “Even if I go mad, what matter? I shall have had my day.” While we do face hardships, this choir has build real solidarity between our members. We will build these communities and bring joy no matter what.

Our last show of this season is at at Volunteer Park today. We can’t wait to see you.

Thank you for going on this 2025-2026 journey with us! Our following and reach has grown significantly since last year, and we are thankful for every single one of you who supports our work. By listening to our voices, you are doing your part to share in our collective liberation.
