Good morning, and happy first day of Inktober to you!! 🎉😺

In the spirit of Halloween, my theme for 2026 Zentangle Inktober is “Mystical Cats.” ✨🪽💀🐍✨

This winged Halloween kitty on a skull on a snake has something to say. Do you think he is howling or serenading? 😉

The tangles from the first two days of Inktober, following the list from Stephanie Jennifer (Stephanie Jennifer), are featured in this image. Can you spot them? ❓The first is the cute circles and leaves pattern by Margaret Bremner CZT (). And the second is the versatile by Jody Genovese CZT (). Both great tangles that I really enjoyed learning! 💛💛💛

Happy Caturday from Bellatrix on the balcony! 😻😻 Check her out with the hummingbird— they were super fascinated with each other. 🙀 The little bird kept flitting away and coming back to stare at kitty. 🐱🐧💛 It happened enough times that I was able to grab my phone and photograph this amazing moment! 💫✨

Trying to get back in the swing of things, and do some Inktober prep (on the train!). 🙀 Some of the tangles were easier to get the hang of than others for me. 😉 But I’m looking forward to posting the final results. 💛💛

As I sit in vigil at my dad’s bedside, I share with you a new hand-drawn flower heart piece with a version of one of his favorite quotes: “Kiss the Joy as it Flies” by William Blake. My dad was an English Professor and he loved the poet and artist with a Buddhist bent who wrote “Eternity.” Go in peace and joy, Dad, surrounded by love! ❤️💔❤️

Here is the full poem:
He who binds to himself a joy
Does the wingéd life destroy
But he who kisses the joy as it flies
Lives in eternity’s sun rise. ☀️

Bellatrix hopes you have the sweetest Caturday! 🫶🫶 She wants to curl up on the couch together and listen to the sounds of the rain on the skylights. 🌧️💧 I just love her little curled up paws. 🐾😻 So cozy! XOXO 😽
