URGENTLY SEEKING ACTORS FOR VOLUNTEER PRIDE FESTIVAL - IT IS A VIRTUAL EVENT SO YOU CAN PARTICIPATE FROM ANYWHERE!

Rainy Day Artistic Collective (RDAC), is seeking actors for Q***r Voices, a fully virtual one act festival of short plays highlighting q***r playwrights and stories. Whether you’re an on-camera veteran or doing it for the first time, we encourage you to audition!

Our initial audition deadline has passed, but we're still in need of several more people to round out our cast, so we're keeping auditions open until we find all the actors we need!

Unfortunately at this time we are not able to provide stipends for actors; we completely understand if this is a deal breaker. As we grow, increasing funding for stipends is our #1 financial priority. This event will be free for all audiences.

Performances will be livestreamed June 27th and 28th. For the rehearsal schedule, please refer to the included form (linked below), but our first rehearsals will be on June 9th. There is no in person activity for this festival.

If you would like to audition, please fill out this form:

https://forms.gle/SG4GwPLV6cgakg3A8.

A resume and headshot (does not have to be a professional headshot) will be extremely helpful tools for us especially if we’ve not worked with you in the past.

A casting breakdown of all available roles is also included in the form - some roles have already been cast, but we’ve removed those from this breakdown.

If you wish to audition but experience any obstacles, please reach out and let us know and we are happy to do our best to help accommodate. RDAC is committed to doing all we reasonably can to remove any barriers to audition accessibility.

RDAC is committed to diverse and inclusive casting and welcomes actors from any and all backgrounds and experience levels to audition for all of our projects.

The form will be closed when all available roles are filled - we will review things and cast open roles as new auditions come in.

Thank you all so much, and please email [email protected] if you have any questions.

Q***R VOICES VIRTUAL ONE ACT FESTIVAL - OPPORTUNITY FOR ACTORS (UNPAID, NON EQUITY).

PLEASE NOTE THIS PROJECT IS FULLY VIRTUAL. YOU CAN PARTICIPATE FROM ANYWHERE YOU PLEASE!

Rainy Day Artistic Collective (RDAC), is seeking actors for this year's Pride Month event... we're bringing back "Q***r Voices," a fully virtual one act festival of short plays highlighting q***r playwrights and stories. Whether you’re an on-camera veteran or doing it for the first time, we encourage you to audition!

Unfortunately at this time we are not able to provide stipends for actors; we completely understand if this is a deal breaker. As we grow, increasing funding for stipends is our #1 financial priority.
This event will be free for all audiences.

Performances will be livestreamed June 27th and 28th. For the rehearsal schedule, please refer to the included form (linked below), but our first rehearsal will be on June 9th. There is no in person activity for this festival.

If you would like to audition, please fill out this form: https://forms.gle/SG4GwPLV6cgakg3A8. It will ask you to upload a 1-2 minute self tape of you performing a contemporary monologue (any genre) as your audition piece.

A casting breakdown of all available roles is also included in the form.

The deadline for submitting audition tapes is June 4th, 2026 at 11:59 PST. We will unfortunately not be able to consider audition tapes submitted after this date - casting will move very quickly since rehearsals start only a few short days later.

Thank you all so much, and please email [email protected] if you have any questions.

Our Rainy Day Readthrough series continued last week with our reading of Chekhov's "The Seagull!" Before reading, we grabbed this picture of (most of) the cast. We had a great time and look forward to continuing the series this summer. So stay tuned - we've got a few more readings coming up that we'll announce soon!

SEEKING MONOLOGUES FOR VIRTUAL HALLOWEEN SHOWCASE

Rainy Day Artistic Collective is planning our fall monologue showcase - this year it will be Halloween themed (like our very first monologue showcase was) and we're looking forward to bringing that back. It will have one livestreamed performance in October (exact date TBD) and be 100% Virtual.

Though we will be putting out a call for actors this summer, we need some monologues to work with first!

If you're interested in submitting a monologue to be considered for this showcase, please review the guidelines below:

Submission Guidelines:

Submissions can only feature one speaker.

We have included poetry and short stories in past showcases, but typically prefer to feature theatrical monologues.

Each monologue must be approximately 2-5 minutes in length.

Piece(s) must be inspired by Halloween in some way - scary or cute, happy or sad, dramatic or comedic, let your imagination run wild!

Excerpts from longer works are acceptable, but they should be able to be performed as standalone monologues with minimal to no additional context required for the audience.

Tech needs should be simple - keep it livestream friendly. Some sound cues are okay (even encouraged, if it fits the mood). We can also use virtual backgrounds to enhance/suggest the setting.

No more than two pieces submitted per playwright, please! Joint authorship of a piece counts towards all contributing playwrights.

Please list any content warnings in your submission.

We are not able to offer stipends for selected playwrights/pieces, but this event is also 100% free for any audience member to watch.

The deadline for submissions will be June 10th, 2026 at 11:59pm PST - no pieces submitted after that will be considered. Please send your submissions to [email protected].

Our mission at Rainy Day Artistic Collective is to "make the theatre you wish to see." We are an inclusive; LGBTQIA+, minority, and disabled-run; hybrid company headquartered in Seattle, Washington. We ally against racist, sexist, classist, xenophobic, homophobic, transphobic, ableist, and otherwise bigoted practices. As such, we will never consider submissions that contradict our values.

EDIT: We’ve had an incredible response - if you’ve emailed us expect a response shortly, but including you we’re already full! Thank you!!

SEEKING ACTORS TO JOIN A VIRTUAL TABLE READ OF THE SEAGULL

Rainy Day Artistic Collective hosts bi-monthly (or so) virtual table reads of various scripts, and we’re looking for some actors to join us for our upcoming reading of “The Seagull” by Anton Chekhov. This will take place on Tuesday May 12th at 6:30pm PST, and will be entirely over Zoom. No experience or preparation is required, no audience will be in attendance, just a one time event where actors come together to read and discuss a script! We’re looking for actors to read the following roles: Irina Arkadina, Nina Zarietchnaya, Shamraeff, Paulina, Masha, Simon Medviedenko. The other roles have been cast.

We’re not especially concerned with any actor’s age, gender, etc. for casting this reading; if a role speaks to you and it’s still open, we’re happy to have you read it!

If you’re interested and available, please feel free to reach out to this reading’s hosts, Jack and Koda, at [email protected]. (And feel free to stay tuned in to our social media for news about future readings.)
