It's always hard to introduce myself. But I just recently applied some art projects and updated my artist bio.
😀My Artist Bio😀
AI-CHUN HUANG is an interdisciplinary artist, designer, and educator from Taiwan. She graduated from National Taiwan University of Arts with a master of Fine arts. She is interested in experimental animations, digital installation, paintings, soundscape, and public art. Her artworks focus on life limitations and social expectations from a female Asian perspective and use metaphors from Asian cultural icons. The journey from home to the destination which often appears in her animation is not only a physical road, but also an intangible, metaphorical, psychological one in her mind.
AI-CHUN freely uses different materials for experiments, and she does digital animations from hand-drawings, or uses collage skills to incorporate metaphors into a story , and even extend to interactive installations. She chooses “ video poem” to record her life scenarios, from small to big perspectives, therefore, AI-CHUN interprets those memories recorded from her self-journey into meaningful scenery.
AI-CHUN has exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including those at the CICA museum in South Korea, Taipei Fine Arts Museum, C-LAB(Taiwan Contemporary Culture Lab) and Pier-2 art center in Taiwan, Nan Jing University art gallery in China, Cornish college of arts, Lewis & Clark college art gallery in USA.......etc. Her outdoor installation presented at National Taichung Theater in Taiwan, and her animations “The Holy Mountain” got the first prize internationally in Jing Shan Classic, Cultural & Creative Arts Award, and the most recent animation”Nomad Chaos” was selected in Shoreline short short film festival in USA.
She currently works as the art director for her own art & design studio ”Little Hope Creative Studio”(甯想創意工作室) which is based between Taiwan and USA, and working on multi-media artwork projects, animations, and visual design. She is also a mother with two kids, and gets lots of art inspirations from her kids. As a nomad artist roaming around the world, AI-CHUN will keep recording her life journey through her artistic eyes, and looking back at what she came from, and where she is standing now.
