Letter from Fair President Clayton Edwards
91st Annual White County Fair will be held September 14–19, and we are excited about the outstanding events planned for this year. Activities will include livestock shows, commercial and educational exhibits, a petting zoo, rodeo performances, and much more. Each year, the Fair brings together families, businesses, and agricultural leaders to celebrate the heritage and future of our community.
The White County Fair Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization led entirely by volunteers who generously donate their time and effort to preserve this long-standing tradition. Events of this scale are only possible because of the generous support of local businesses and individuals like you. We are fully transparent in our financial operations and welcome any questions regarding how funds are used.
Why Support the White County Fair?
Our primary mission is the promotion and preservation of agriculture, along with the development and encouragement of youth involved in agricultural and community programs. The Fair provides invaluable opportunities for young exhibitors to showcase their hard work, dedication, and leadership.
Hosting the Fair requires significant resources. Last year, fair-month expenses totaled approximately $350,250. This year, projected expenses are approximately $365,000. While we host multiple fundraising events throughout the year, sponsorship support remains essential to sustaining and growing this event. Of this total amount for the operations of the fair a total of $46,220.00 is supplied by the White County Fair for added points money for exhibitors and participants in the different events from the education building, to the cattle shows, and the rodeo.
The Fair also plays a vital role in our local economy. Research indicates that every dollar spent locally circulates multiple times within the community. A significant percentage of our Fair expenditures are spent locally, supporting area businesses and service providers. Additionally, our premium livestock sale averages approximately $143,000 annually — 100% of which goes directly to White County youth exhibitors. The economic impact of the Fair extends well beyond fair week, benefiting the entire county.
Thank you for your continued support of the White County Fair and the youth of our community.
Sincerely,
Clayton Edwards, President
